1953 Hudson Hudson Description

1953 Hudson Hornet 4 Door Sedan308 CID Twin H Power
This beautiful Hudson Hornet is probably the closest to being completely original as you will find today. It was sold new on the west coast and remained there until I purchased it in March of 2012 and had it shipped to Indiana by Reliable Carriers.
It is completely rust-free. It shows no signs of ever being dented, scratched, or wrecked. This beautiful Hudson has always been owned by a Hudson enthusiasts as you can tell by the look of the original interior showing no signs of fading or wear, including the carpet. The dash has the appearance of just coming from the factory. The car has 53600 original miles. It's ready to be driven anywhere. Feel free to fly in and drive it home.
Everything works on the dash, all the gauges, the switches, the radio and even the clock works most of the time. The car comes with a windshield visor which the previous owner removed and will be sold with the car. The car has the original colors of Honey Cream on the top and Texas Tan on the bottom. The car has been repainted just one time since new and is in excellent condition. All of the chrome and stainless are in beautiful condition. The Solex glass windows and windshields have no chips cracks or scratches or delamination. The front door weather stripping that was dry rotted when I bought the car have been replaced.
Within the last 7500 miles this beautiful Hudson has received the following: four Diamond Back radial tires with white side walls to match proper width for the era. Rebuilt overdrive transmission, rebuilt clutch disc, pressure plate, throw out bearing, gaskets and seals, new motor mounts, and rear pinion seal. Also new universal joints, front and rear wheel bearings were checked and lubricated, brake shoes are relatively new, a new 4 tube radiator, hoses and belts were also installed. Along with a rebuilt water pump, mechanical fuel pump and an electric fuel pump for easy starting. The cylinder head appears to never have been removed. The oil pan, timing gear cover have been removed to install new gaskets in seals. The timing chain appeared to be new. This Hudson travels with modern traffic with no problems. The only reason I am offering is Hornet for sale is because of the owners advancing age of 93 years old.
