You have the opportunity to bid on a very rare car! After WWII ended in 1946, Studebaker started producing car again, but only for 2 months, before switching over to the 1947 model cars. Because of this, less than 2000 coupes were produced in the 1946 model. The Antique Studebaker Club considers this car "pre-war" since it's a continuation of the 1942 models, with a few exceptions, most notably the grill.
This is an all original NW car, where theynever salted the roads until just a few years ago. It has been in drystorage since 2001 that I know of, probably longer. It has a very nice dash and steering wheel. The split-back bench seat allows access to the trunk area. The upholstery needs to be redone. There are curtains on the package shelf, which hide the contents in the trunk. It has 60,440 original miles on the odometer. The car will run, but needs brakes and exhaust. The exterior of the car hassurface rust andthe right rear fender is rusted thruoghunder the rubber rock guard. The body is solidand has no damage. In the trunk area, there is some rust on the drip rail, and on the rear portion of the trunk floor. Missing headliner, driver's door panel and door latch.
Extra Parts include: New taillight glass, one taillight trim ring, headlight ring, front shocks, new rubber rock guards, extra hood ornament, one bumper guard, NOS "Studebaker" chrome piece for rear bumper.
For Coupe Lovers, this one is really cool-----
