1964 Triumph Other Description

Period Correct Engineering Dream Car. This is an opportunity to take a solid British design and snug in the well-known Ford 289, which is only about 80 pounds heavier than Triumph's 4 cylinder. This project is advertised toward specific individuals with knowledge and interest in the TR4 race history and the potential performance within the chassis of this solid axle. The Sunbeam Tiger used the same engine and never changed the rear end. The real plus here is the period-correctness of all components (except the tires).WORK DONE SO FAR:
Frame-off cleaning (frame straight), right floorboard new, engine bay sandblasted and primed, window frame stripped and primed (straight no rust damage /new rubber for glass), all dash and vents removed stripped primed painted, gauges removed disassembled restored, heater box disassembled stripped primed painted with 2000° paint. Firewall sandblasted primed sealed painted (new rubber grommets), cowl intake prepped primed (perfect with new rubber seal), pedal assembly removed prepped painted, steering column removed painted (new couplings), aluminum dash bracket stripped (straight w/ no feet deterioration), gas tank removed (has small holes), body and some inner wing areas sanded to bare metal and primed with DTM, I discovered bondo at tip of hood/ rear valence and right lower rear wing. (removed as much as possible, rear solid-axle removed totally cleaned prepped painted (gears/ bearings/ shims perfect).COMES WITH:American Racing Silverstone wheels with 205/65 R15 Mastercraft tires, seat frames, roll bar, tonneua cover, the gas tank, door handles and windshield wiper arms, new body to frame kit, one original blue Oregon plate, new steering rack boots, two rare wooden door trim parts, and a 1965 289 complete case with headers/ weiland intake/ new gasket set.ABOUT TR4:I am second owner from an estate barn find. Original color was Spa White with Matador Red interior. I don't have tranny or original motor. Currently no brakes due to restoration. The front left fender is incorrect for this year. My plan was to Cobra it out (I'm in engineering), but need down payment for house. Group 44 race team has trouble finding these sought after wheels. And this TR is only increasing in value. I have not cut out any firewall for the bigger motor....yet. Save this Triumph from "cobra". The Ford engine is not in vehicle and will ship next to car (ebay's shipping company may charge extra). Arrangements to pick up ok too.
