1977 MG MGB MK IV Convertible 2-Door 1.8L, Barn Find, Solid, NO RUST, NO RESERVE
1977 MG MGB MK IV Convertible 2-Door Description
This "NO RESERVE" auction is for a very nice 1977 MG MGB convertible roadster. It has a 4 cylinder gasoline engine and a 4 speed manual transmission. I bought it from the executor of an estate. I am a "car guy" but I have way too many projects! The car had been setting in a storage building for probably 10 years. Before that, from looking at the overall condition and the new tires on it I would say it was someones "pride and joy". The sheetmetal, top and underneath is extremely solid with little or no rust on this car. I enclosed pictures of the bottoms of the doors....smooth and solid! I was told it was originally a Florida car so it has seen no salt or inclement weather. I crawled around underneath it....super solid everywhere. I drained the old gas and changed the fuel filter...car started up and just purrs! The transmission shifts perfect, car goes down the road nicely. The interior looks original and is very nice. The top is new. The exhaust is solid. The tires are like new but have some dry rot so I am not sure if i would trust them or not. The trunk floor is solid like the rest of the car. The brakes work, but will need some minor work before I would consider this car "roadworthy". Overall this car would make someone a super driver with just the smallest amount of TLC...and would make someone a perfect example to do a cosmetic restoration on to create a "show worthy" car without replacing a bunch of sheet metal and panels. As I said, this is a "NO RESERVE" auction. High bidder at the end owns it. Please don't bid if you can't buy...as you may end up the high bidder! This is a "pickup only" auction so you will need to get it hauled to you. I will work with your hauler to facilitate pickup.Please...look at my feedback and bid with confidence! Also. email me any questions you may have.
On Oct-22-16 at 07:50:23 PDT, seller added the following information:Notice: Someone had contacted me with the intention of driving this car home. I want to make very clear that I do not consider this car "roadworthy" at this point! As I said in the auction....it will take a bit of "TLC" to bring it into roadworthy state. The brakes work, but need some work. They have some air in the lines (and who know what else) that keep them from being safe and effective so this means you really can't drive this car home. That along with the fact that it has set for 10 years and really needs a good going over before attempting to using it on public roadways. I like to "under describe" the cars I sell on Ebay so there are no surprises for the new owner. Please, if you have any specific doubts or questions please contact me before bidding. And if you have bid and this new information makes you unsure of this being the car for you, feel free to retract your bid. Now, not at the end of the auction, when it is no longer possible.
