This is not your typical smart car!

The 450 model is the original model of the smart. This model came with a number of unique features, unique styling and a motor by Mercedes Benz that was turbocharged and could be easily tuned to produced more power and better response.
This model was never officially imported by MB to the US, but a number of car collections brought these in over time. The demand for these models was rather high and a company by the name of G&K Conversions legally imported these to California and performed the entire conversion to make them 100% legal for California and the rest of the country. Once these cars were converted they were sold at prices between $30,000-40,000 when new.
Each of these G&K Conversion cars underwent a complete check and received a US Vin Number and Title. There are a number of Gray Market 450 Cars out there that are very difficult and sometimes impossible to register. This is NOT one of them! This car is 100% legal and comes with all docs. It is also currently registered in California so you will not have any issues with registration or smog!
The 450 model has become the model that has kept its value over time and has consistently been the model that is chosen by enthusiasts over the newer 451 model which was officially imported to the US. Do not confuse this with the 451 model which is a high volume vehicle and is simply considered a used car now days.

This car was owned by a car collector in Beverly Hills and was looked after very well. This example shows very little wear and is probably one of the nicest 450 models anywhere in US. The exterior and interior along with the drivetrain has been very well cared for and it shows.
The car was serviced by SMART MADNESS and has received a thorough inspection and a full service. The vehicle was also upgraded with a high flow filter and has received the BRABUS Performance ECU Flash ($1,200 value) to give the vehicle improved power and response. The flash is safe and keeps the vehicle operating at safe levels. You are basically getting the performance of a Limited Brabus Model that was available at an extra cost.
