2009 Saturn Sky Redline Special Edition Convertible - EFR Turbo - NO RESERVE
2009 Saturn Sky Red Line Convertible 2-Door Description
I've had tons of fun with this car and it's time to move onto something else and let a new owner enjoy this incredible convertible.
If you've been looking for a nice convertible that has great looks and awesome power, then look no further. This 2009 Saturn Sky Redline is guaranteed to put an ear-to-ear grin on your face every time you drive it and will turn heads everywhere you go. Saturn produced 500 Limited Edition Ruby Red (Merlot) units in 2009, 367 of which were Redlines so this is 1 of those 367 units produced which doesn't separate the manual from automatic transmissions so the numbers are even far fewer than 367.
Factory specifications on the Saturn Sky Redline are 260 horsepower and 260 ft.lbs of torque which does a great job of moving these little convertibles but this particular Sky has a few upgrades under the hood that can double those numbers. For starters the turbocharger has been upgraded to an EFR7163 capable of supporting 600 horsepower which flows through a Performance Autowerks Intercooler and DDM Charge Air Cooler pipes and is fed fresh air from DDM's newest intake setup. On the hot side of the turbo, exhaust gases are fed through a SOLO Performance High Flow Catalytic Converter and out through a Solo Performance Mach Exhaust system nicely tucked inside a custom fiberglass diffuser from Norm's Custom Fiberglass Shop. The setup sounds as great as it looks!
To handle the amount of power that the EFR turbo is capable of supplying, the engine has been upgraded with a brand new LDK block which is a sand-casted block versus the original factory foam-casted block. Since the factory pistons and rods would not be able to handle the power, they have been upgraded to Wiseco pistons and Molnar Rods. A new LNF head was installed along with ZZP's upgraded fuel lobe cam and 82 pound valve springs so if you ever have a need to spin this engine past 7000rpm, there's no reason you can't though it makes PLENTY of power with the shifts set right at 6800rpm.
While running on pump gas alone, this setup will safely make around 400 horsepower at the rear wheels and with the supplied Devil's Own Methanol Injection System activated, it will easily make 425+ at the rear wheels. If you're in an area where ethanol fuel (E85) is available, this setup will make close to 500 horsepower at the rear wheels which is a blast in a car this small. I've been driving it for the past two years on an E47 tune and it is a rocket. Needless to say it will surprise many big muscle cars....and still get excellent fuel mileage. Tires are 245/45/18 Michelin Pilot Super Sports and have less than 5000 miles on them.
The interior is nice and clean as the photos show. I upgraded the stereo shortly after buying the car over three years ago with a Kenwood DDX771 touchscreen head unit with the backup camera option, Infiniti speakers in the doors and panels behind the seats and added a dedicated amplifier for the subwoofer. It sounds great and the backup camera really comes in handy when the top is up. All of the steering wheel controls work with the upgraded system as does OnStar. The rear view mirror was replaced with an auto-dimming unit which is a much nicer unit than the standard factory option. The DDM center console includes cupholders which the factory console did not provide and you don't really realize how convenient they are to have until you don't have them. I added heated seats two winters ago as well and also manual pump lumbar supports which are nice additions to have on the factory seats. The driver's seat has the power option on the seat bottom and the passenger seat is manual only.
I'm still driving the car so the mileage will be slightly higher than what is pictured. I will upload the new owners ECM calibration of choice with HP Tuners VCM Suite hardware and software which is dependent on the type of fuel you will run. For an additional fee of $500 on top of the winning bid, I will include the HP Tuners interface and an ASUS T100 laptop along with calibrations for pump gas, pump gas with methanol and also E47 (ethanol and pump gas mix).
Please take a look at the photos and feel free ask any questions. I've had a lot of success buying and selling vehicles and other items here and guarantee you that this car will not disappoint. While I didn't take photos of the keys, the car does come with 2 keys and 2 remotes along with the valet key and all of the manuals. There is a small dent and two small dings in the trunk lid that I photographed but they don't show up well. Other than those small imperfections, there is only the typical small chips that you would expect from a car with 41,000 miles.
With a NO RESERVE auction, this car will go to the highest bidder so don't wait until the last minute only to get outbid. Bid with confidence and bid to WIN!!!!
