1973 MG MGB GT Description

MGB-GT 1973

I am parting out from my cars.I am getting older and is time to let them go, but as a car lover I wish a good home for each one of them that gave me so much joy to own and drive.

I believe I am the 3rd owner of my ’73 MGB-GT.The guy I bought it from was a car collector. I did mayor work on it not because it needed it but because I wanted to make it extraordinary.Costed quite a bit of $$ but was appreciated on the car shows I took her.

Has its original orange color, pain is good but not excellent.Has chips and cracks unnoticeable from 6-7 feet away but a mayor one on the hood (see picture) . For me is fine it shines good when washed and better if waxed; new owner may choose to repaint it.

Chromed wire wheels with Bursani three loaves knock offs and 2 new tires.

Upholstery and carpet are in great condition.

Factory overdrive on 3rd and 4th.

Factory Oil cooler.

Adjustable SPAX shocks all around.

Brakes with front slotted disks, front end bushings, terminals, etc. done together with the engine.

Engine Stage 2: Bored to 3.258.125 over bore

10.25 compression ratio.

Rods, Rockers, Valves:New ARP rod bolts, Harland Sharp Roller Rockers and new chromed valve cover.

Crankshaft work: Grind and balance complete engine.

Gear reduction light weight starter.

Head work: Alloy cross flow head and dual DOCE intake manifold.

Camshaft: Designed for the cross flow head .333 lift 280 duration and 108 degrees lobe separation.

Carburetors: double Weber 45 DCOEs jetted for the motor and Weber air cleaners.

Cooling system: Alloy Radiator with supplemental manual on/off electric fan.

Exhaust system: Powder coated free flow Pace Setter header with custom tail pipes, magna flow double mufflers and four chromed terminals.

Converted to 12V battery instead of double 6V.

Custom Extra instrumentation on the console without modifying the panel.

AM-FM radio, tape and 6 disk changer.

Spot and fog lights on the front and rear mud flaps.

Pop out gas cap from a Jensen Healey.

Triple antitheft deterrent systems.

Short through gear shifter (removable).

All engine work was done by The Chequered Flag in Chatsworth, CA in April 2008. Since then the car has being driven less than 1600 miles a year; my vintage Insurance limits the miles driven per year to 2000.

Car was never raced or abused but loved and well kept.
