1981 DeLorean DMC-12. 5 speed manual transmission. Project.
I purchased this car November 2010 from a seller in Las Vegas. It did not start or run at the time. Over the next year or so I was able to get it started after draining all the old gas, replacing the in-tank pump and filter, replacing all the fuel lines, and other fuel injection related parts purchased from Special T in Texas. Once running it turned out the transmission had issues. Special T provided a rebuilt unit and I started to install it but never finished. The fuel injection unit is not bolted on or connected. Then I bought a decent running DeLorean and used some of the parts from this car. As you can see in the photos it has been stored inside and also was a southwest car all of its life so no rust issues underneath. The driver door has some dents and the front right fender is dented where it meets the flexible plastic front grill surround. Windshield has a large crack. The fiberglass louvered rear panel has cracks. The passenger door window was removed to fix the power window but the parts are all there. Also the ignition switch has been removed from the steering column. There are some missing interior trim parts along with the instrument binnacle cover. Please DO NOT ask me exactly what it will take to get this car back on the road in safe driving condition. I have not worked on it in years and just want to see it go to someone that appreciates these rare vehicles. The clear Nevada title is available. I am selling the car NO RESERVE with auction ending 6PM PDT Sunday May 8. It steers, rolls, and brakes. Located in Hemet, California (Riverside County) approximately 2 hours east of Los Angeles via I-10. Good luck with the bidding! Full payment is required within 7 days of the auction end. The car must be removed from its present location before May 29,2016 at 4PM.
