2001 Other Makes Qvale Mangusta None, minimalist as it should be Description

These unique cars were all hand built in Modena, Italy and like all DeTomaso's performance cars, they featured Ford engines. Only 284 were manufactured between 2000 and 2002; 55 of these had automatics and only 18 were sold on the European market. As the car was being launched, there was a falling out between DeTomaso and Qvale which ended up with the car being rebadged as a Qvale Mangusta (Qvale was a Norwegian-American car importer in the US). The Qvale Mangusta uses theFord SVT Cobra engine and thus offerssimilar performance to the Ferrari's and other sports cars of the day, going from 0-60 in 5.3 seconds -- at a much lower price.Less than 150 cars are thought to exist today.*This car has been driven 20,000 miles since purchased in 2010. It was a daily driver on the highway in good weather only, and has almost no city traffic mileage. Since 2010 the car has had zero mechanical problems whatsoever, only regularmaintenance and the brakes were changed. Full service records available.*For the record, this was the 200th Qvale Mangusta manufactured; and this model was on display at the Geneva Auto show before being imported into the US because of it's red interior (reportedly the only one of it's kind). The car is immaculate.* Here is the Car & Driver article on theQvale Mangusta from 2001. The introductory price back then for this hand-made car was USD 80,945.
