1965 Other Makes Sunbeam Tiger Description

1965 Sunbeam Tiger Mark 1 Original Color Code 39 (carnival red) B9471762 LRXFE (note original rivets on VIN) Chassis # JAL 561369 Tiger was media blasted and had no signs of wrecks or rust damage. However the fender flares were expanded out to match wider tires and those were put back to stock using factory parts. Paint and body work done by a professional shop. Paint is only 6 weeks old and looks beautiful (two stage urethane base coat & clear coat)!
Original 260 engine was replaced years ago with a 1968 Ford 302. The 302 was re-built with 30 over pistons, polished crank and cam. Heads have new valves and seats. New headers were powder coated and run thru turbo flow mufflers. New Mallorey electronic Ignition and New Holley 650 double pumper carb. New Ford Racing Intake. Engine has less than 10 miles on it! Radiator re-cored with dimple core for extra cooling and new Ron Davis expansion tank installed. New Heater Core.
Original Top Loader re-built and shifts fine. All new rear brakes and calipers re-built using stainless steel pistons. New brake booster. New brake and gas lines. New control arm bushings and tie rod ends in front suspension..
Solid Walnut Dash. All gauges, switches, heater, wiper, and wiring works great! Tach re-built to read electronic ignition. JVC CD AM FM with 4 speaker surround sound. Mono Lita Steering Wheel. Odometer may not be original mileage but does read as stated.
Original Type wheels powder coated red and mounted with new Toyo tires (including spare).
Gas tanks chemically flushed and sealed. Stainless Steel Bolts used thru-out.
New black top, upholstery and carpet. Red piping added to seats/console. All exterior chrome re-chromed including bumpers/guards/etc Car runs great and has significant horsepower over the stock 260. You can't tell the engine difference without lots of investigation.
There is no doubt that this is an original Tiger----such as original VIN Rivets, spare tire location, battery in trunk, holes for spark plug/valve cover access, transmission tunnel mod, exhaust cutout, and generator mod in inner fender. I'm only selling the Tiger because of limited garage space and another Tiger project to start.
You can own this piece of Carroll Shelby History with a rare Shelby modified Tiger. Only 7,700 were made from 1964 thru 1967.
