1966 International Harvester Scout Sportop Description
If you know Scouts, you know the Sportops are extremely rare. In addition to being rare, it's a 2wd which is even more rare. Google "Scout 800 Sportop" and look at the images...Check the hubs...They're all 4wd. The 2wd Sportops are the rarest of the rare.
This is by no means perfect, it does need some work, but it's a solid start. The body work wasn't the best in the world, but it's there. Engine runs like a top. It has a 152 4-Cylinder and a 3-speed.
If interested, please contact me with your number and I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have. I have another project and need to sell this week. It's also listed locally so I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. If you Buy it Now, I require a $1000 non-refundable deposit immediately by PayPal and the remainder within 3 days. Again, sorry but I'm really in a rush to sell.
Video or truck running here
Note that in Alabama no title is given for a vehicle of this age so this truck is sold with a bill of sale only.
On Feb-07-17 at 17:56:40 PST, seller added the following information:Note that the Line Setting Ticket shows that the truck was delivered to a dealer in Knoxville, TN. The guy I bought it from said that he bought it from an old man in Knoxville who bought it new. I have no documentation to prove that, but based on the LST, the story seems to add up. I've uploaded MANY more pictures. The Scout isn't perfect, it does need some work. However, it's extremely rare and is a sound investment. PLEASE contact me if you have any questions at all so that the transaction goes smoothly. I don't want any bidder / winner to have any surprises at auction end.
