1986 AC Autokraft Cobra, 302, Black / Tan Interior, 19k miles, All Aluminum
1986 Other Makes AC COBRA Description
Beautiful 1986 AC Autokraft MK IV Aluminum Bodied Cobra, Black with Tan interior (a gorgeous color combination, in my opinion, arguably the best!) with original Ford 302 and Borg Warner T5 transmission. These cars were sold in select Ford Dealerships in the mid 1980's, and Autokraft made between 3 and 400 before going bankrupt some years later. 19k miles. Runs beautifully, car needs nothing. Recently tuned, including being put on the Dyno. Engine has been warmed up a bit, and makes something under 300HP gross. Engine has aluminum heads, and a high quality roller valve train, and Ford Racing headers. Catalytic converter long gone. Correct dual plane aluminum intake manifold, and Holley Carburetor with electric choke. Original 16" knock off wheels, with Spinners, and two sets of near new BF goodrich radials. Car has spare wheel and tire, knock off hammer, side curtains, original Tonneau cover, and a car cover. Complete ownership history. Parts list and Factory Literature and articles from the Automotive press when the car was released are also included. I have put less than 500 miles on the car in three years. It is quick, but very streetable, and I LOVE the rear exiting factory exhaust. This is the second AC MK IV I have owned. (I sold the first one I owned into France, some years ago. It had Webers and side exhaust, and this one is much easier to live with, at least for me!) They are great, high quality, cars. Properly sorted. Condition: paint is original, nothing more than a few small nicks and scratches. NO damage history, ever, of which I am aware. Mechanically near perfect. All Smith's gauges work perfectly, including the clock! No rips or tears in the interior, and it is beautiful. I have installed a Shelby style shifter handle, and Shelby style lap belts. Original shoulder harness and shifter is included, of course. Price is firm. I have it priced like a Kirkham roller. Kirkhams are great cars also, but it is my opinion that these are about as close to the original 1960's cars as you can get, in that the bodies were built in England, on the same bucks and jigs as were the original AC cars from the 1960's. Kirkhams are made in a former Mig Fighter jet facility in Poland....again, they do great work! But if you want a car that is about as close to the 1960's lineage as is possible without spending nearly 10x the money, an AC MK IV should be considered. Titled as a 1986 Ford, on a clear Texas Title. PRICE $119K. If you have genuine interest, please call me at 214-507-9441. No emails, please. I am selling all of my vintage cars.
