1972 Other Makes Healey Convertible Description
1972 Jensen Healey Roadster
This car has been my daily driver for the past year!It starts right up every morning. It steers fine and the brakes work great. It has a Ford Cologne 2.8L V6 in it with more than enough power to motivate.
I have spent many dollars and hours getting this car to where it is now. It has:
- Four speed manual transmission
- Fiero seats
- A custom fabricated steel dash
- High end Speedwell gauges
- Fresh carpet
- New tires
- New aluminum radiator
- New master cylinder
- Stainless steel braided brake lines
- New shock absorbers
- Rare removable hardtop
- Leather Le Carra steering wheel
- Freshly rebuilt steering knuckles.
- Repacked rack and pinion steering (turns on a dime)
You are not going to find many vehicles that have been given this much love and attention for this price. look at how clean and fresh everything is under the hood and in the trunk. That took many hours worth of work to accomplish.
Super nice Speedwell gauges will log your 1/4 mile time, 0 to 60 time, direction and use GPS for speed. Mounted on a completely custom fabricated steel dashboard that really fits the lines of the car.
The trunk and under hood areas have been completely cleaned up and repainted. Gas lifts installed on hood. The outside paint still needs to be done. No hidden rust on the body or underneath! The trunk has a rust patch that you can see in the pictures and the hood has a small dent in it. All of the gauges function properly except I have not hooked up the fuel gauge.
I have a gorgeous set of brand new Enkei 15" wheels that I will pass along to the seller for an additional $300 if interested. See the last photo. They cost me $600 and are new in the box.
Needs; The left shock absorber mount or spring bushings squeak on hard bumps sometimes. This does not cause any other issues. The removable hard top could use a new seal although it does have one in place. The turn signals need attention but the hazards, brake lights and headlights all work. A gasket on the rear of the transmission is seeping a bit but I have not bothered to replace it yet. This is not a difficult repair as the gasket can be replaced without removing the transmission. Some basic wiring needed to complete things. Also, I put a muffler on the car that is a bit too open. I will supply a replacement that would sound better. The car sounded great before I replaced the muffler but the new one sounds a unpleasant at medium speeds. :) This is not the engine. It is the muffler.
Sale Includes:Convertible top frame without canvas, spare carburetor and spare wheel are included along with a manual and whatever else I can dredge up to pass along.
This is a really fun roadster to drive. Starts right up and runs like a boss. Corners flat and true. Does not pull left or right. No uneven tire wear. No smoke. It is a true sports car and has plenty of power. Burton Power sells cams, intakes etc. for this engine if you want to build a track car out of it.
Own a reliable yet unique car and starts and runs fine every time!
I am here to answer any and all questions so please feel free to contact me to talk further. Come drive it if you live nearby. Additional pictures available on request. Here are a couple of very amateur videos I made of the car running. Note that it was raining so the exhaust has steam coming out of it. Also I used Jeep hold down spring latches to secure the rear of the removable hard top (for easier removal) and they squeak a bit. The engine will sound really good with the supplied replacement muffler.
