1958 Studebaker Golden Hawk Description
One of 878 Golden Hawks produced with 1958 being the last year of production. This is an original 289 V-8, 275 HP Studebaker engine.
Restored frame-off 2012-2013. Base coat and clear coat are PPG products. Rust Free. New tires, brakes, wheel bearings, brake lines and master cylinder. Rebuilt Super Charger, generator and starter. Heads reconditioned with harden valve seats for today's fuel. New piston rings.
All parts that are chrome have been re-chromed except the rear bumper, grille, front turn signals and headlight bezels. All stainless steel moldings have been repaired and polished.
The interior was restored approximately 15 years ago and is in very good condition. New headliner and carpet 2012.
Some minor issues include: inoperable tachometer (All parts present), fuel gage indicator, turn signals do not flash though they do light up. Two minor cracks in paint: one on the hood and one on the right quarter panel.
Ahead of it's time in engineering and style, this car is a must see head-turner and is a thrill to drive especially when you get up to speed and the super charger kicks in. You are invited to come see and drive this car which can only lead to a deep appreciation of it.
