2001 Saturn SL1 w/ Extras
2001 Saturn S-Series Description
For sale is a 2001 Saturn SL1. I bought the car about a year ago. The previous owner had a lot of work done on it, and had the receipts for proof. This included an engine replacement at 122,000 miles, with a used engine from a car with 72,212 miles on it. So, the car has 145,700 miles but the engine has only 95.000 miles. The high points of the car include:
professionally installed cruise control (an actual Saturn system, NOT an aftermarket cruise control) and power door locks (manual windows)
good working air conditioning
good brakes and new front wheel bearings
good tires
good engine that doesn't use oil
38 miles per gallon hwy, around 27 in town
aftermarket Pioneer AM/FM/USB stereo
The car is not pristine. Problems are mostly cosmetic and include:
Front seats are different colors (the driver's seat was broken and I could only find a beige seat. I
have Dickey's black seat covers installed
headliner has pop stains and could use a cleaning
headliner needs refitting behind right rear door
car was in an accident several years ago. Well repaired but right rear door is sticks a little
an older car's dings-no breaks or dents
It's not fancy. It's a basic car that provides reliable transportation with good gas mileage. It was in good condition when I bought it and better condition now. I like it, particularly that it's a rare SL1 with a 5-speed transmission. It was my daily driver until February. I'm selling it for two reasons: (1) Due to complications of eye surgery, I've lost my ability to drive, and (2) no one else in the family can drive a stick shift, so the car is useless to us now. Although the buyer may arrange shipping, the car can be driven anywhere. With advance notice, I can arrange for a family member to pick the buyer up from the Indianapolis International Airport if the buyer wants to drive it home.
Note: The Autocheck report for this car indicates that the title is branded as "not actual mileage." The Indiana BMV brands all titles as "not actual mileage" if the engine or transmission has been replaced. In fact, the odometer mileage is correct.
