1960 Peugeot, recent actual barn find, stored 28-30 years. Car given a minor tune up and she came to life. Odometer reads 44,000, may be actual mileage.
Motor starts right up, runs well, carburetor could use a rebuild. Good transmission and clutch. Shifts easily thru the gears. Exhaust quite loud as muffler is rotted off, NO BRAKES. Runs well of cleaned gas tank. Radiator and cooling system are good but upper rad hose leaks and needs replacement. Included are four brand new tires, three are mounted on the front rims, one is in the car awaiting installation.
Lights, turn signals, and gauges work, wipers work, generator charges, AM radio even works but needs an antenna. Door panels and seats are in good condition (small hole drivers back) andwould look nice if given a good cleaning, Car came with a factory sunroof and still has a nearly perfect headliner.
With the exception of the passenger headlight ring, all trim is present and in nice condition
Car was stored in a damp barn resulting in surface rust and a rotted out area under the driver's seat as well as some rocker panel rot and a few rot rips along a couple of fender top edges. Weak area is rotted portion of left hand floor support, under driver's seat, which runs front to back. Area could be ground out and new section of angle iron welded in. The cowl in front of the windshield is pretty rusty but not rotted thru. On the plus side, the door bottoms are all very solid as is the door jambs, the trunk, and most of the floors. Fenders, quarters are solid. All glass is in good shape.
This Peugeot is a very worthy restoration project and is well worth the effort.
I do not have a title for this car but did find a photo copy of the last owner's 1980's registration . A bill of sale will also be provided.
