1961 Plymouth Fury Description

1961 Plymouth Fury 2 Door Hardtop, same owner since 1973. Vehicle runs and drives, 225 Slant 6 engine starts and runs, has exhaust manifold leak but engine is quiet internally and is smooth and holds coolant and does not over heat. The transmission is weak and I believe the reason the car was parked in the garage in 2010.Forward / Drive engages but reverse slips . We got a brake pedal but expect some brake work before cruise night! It grabs and pulls. Brakes are non-power as is the steering. Fuel tank is leaking and will need to be repaired or replaced. It is currently running on a remote fuel jug. This car has plenty of work to do, it will need work in the quarters, rockers and trunk. The frame rails have been patched and plated over the years and someone spent the time doing it but it is a work in progress. With that sai, the car needs to be restored and deserves to be restored either stock or possibly a mild custom? The interior looks to have been done sometime in the last 20 years,a simple recover with 60/40 bench seat that is pleasing to look at and is in very good condition as is.Headliner board looks original and in good to very good condition. The car still wears belted tires from the 70's and are in need of replacement. I really like this cars style and although awkward looking at certain angles it is soooo sleek at others, sitting behind the wheel is a trip, it is a spaceship straight from Detroit. All trim brightwork and stainless are present except "Plymouth spear" on right side, most stainless is very good, though some will need reconditioning.I have a reasonable reserve put on it and obviously will need to be transported as she is not ready for a road trip as is. All costs of transport and arrangements for transport are that of the high bidder.I would be happy to answer any questions via email or we can exchange number, my work schedule is pretty tight but I can get back usually by the end of the day.
