1967 Plymouth Drag car
1967 Plymouth GTX Description
Your bidding on a 67 Plymouth race car That was built by Gene Lynch at Gateway race cars in 1986. It has been updated over the years to what you see here. I have raced it the last 9 years, and it has been a great car to race. It has taken me to the winners circle more times than I can remember. And it always scores high in the annual points standings, 2nd this year. All certifications are current as of march this year. I race super/pro bracket, and has a quickest 1/4 mile time of 9.92 @ 138 MPH. At an alt. 2850' above sea level. I mostly race at 5000' above sea level, 1/8 mile and average 6.60 @ 105 MPH. The engine is a 540 C.I.D. mopar mega block with 4 bolt mains, and a 4.5" bore. It has Indy CNC 325 heads on it. 1050 Pro Systems carb (could go way faster with a carb & cam change) I have a modest .620 lift roller cam and indy rockers, all freshened up 3 seasons ago (It will go 6 seasons betwen rings and bearings, even at that you will see very little wear. The transmission is an A&A Rick Allison built race trans that was freshened up this year. It has a Dynamic converter also rebuilt this year. Out back there is a Mark Williams built Dana 60 with 40 spline gun drilled axels, and there light weight spool. Mark Williams disk brakes rear and Willwood front. The cage is certified to 8.50 This car is very easy to get in and out of and goes straight as an arrow every time. There is a lot more potential in the motor, but I built it for Reliability, and that it has been. I shift it at 5900. It has a cheetah air shifter, but I always shift it my self. Could look at mopar trades from 1962 to 69s. Send me a message with questions, or if you want to see more photos. I have put a buy it now price for those not interested in the action thing, and don't want to let a proven winner get away. Thanks for looking at my car.
