1969 Plymouth GTX
1969 Plymouth GTX Description
This St Louis built 69 GTX was doing battle with someone back in the day, in the heat of the moment the back half of the auto trans exploded from the excess 440 torque and the car was then parked over 30 years ago. I know this as I purchased from the original owner who told meabout it. As you can see some of the original trans parts are still in the trunk, I have a broken piece of the tail shaft with the speedo gear still in it, and there is floorboard damage from where the spinning trans debris almost entered the drivers area. What a ride that must have been. The car currently has a '71 HP 440 in it that has a new purple shaft cam installed and was allegedly rebuilt, though I recommend going through it again. It sports a Holleystreet dominator intake and a thermoquad. The Moroso air cleaner and headers that come with are not pictured. It is coupled with the 727 torquflite of course that just needs linkage hooked up, which the linkage is currently residing in the back floorboard with some other parts like the original voltage regulator, etc. The car is currently not running and driving but all the makings are there.
Vin tag on dash, fender tag, core support and trk lip numbers all match. The car is very solidtop and bottom and is one of the better starting points for a neat restoration. It would look great going back to its original color with a black vinyl top. All the glass is great and all the little parts and pieces, trim, screws, etc are all in place and not tampered with. Front seats have never been out of the car but the rear seats are not original to thecar. Original carpet is somewhat in place on the solid floor that would just need some small patching vs replacement. The car is registered in my name in KS and my title is on the way to me from the state and I guarantee clear, signed title delivery within a few weeks. I can provide the buyer with my registration copy to prove.
The bad: trunk floor needs replaced, left rear frame extension is bad, the rear lower valance is needing replacement.
I will let the pics do the rest of the talking, thanks for looking at my auction and please bid responsibly. Any questions call nine one three, two o eight, forty five o eight.
I forgot to picture the front of the car. The gtx grille and headlights and surrounds are all there and the bumper is nice.
