1967 Plymouth GTX, 426 Hemi
1967 Plymouth GTX Base Description
Looking for the right, but affordable HEMI? My dark red metallic GTX is it! Crank it up and feel that Hemi! If they could have used a GTX in the movie Thunder Road, this would be it. This is a well documented GTX. It was delivered to a Paul Badenhop Chrysler, Plymouth Dealership in Fayetteville, TN. and sold to a customer in Huntsville, AL. The fender tag decodes correctly as a 426 Hemi, automatic transmission with 3:55 rear. The IBM build card also verifies the authenticity of the car. It shows the Plymouth was delivered with deluxe hubcaps, as shown in the photos, bucket seats with fold down center, red interior and carpet and basic AM radio. The sales order number matches the CertiCard, which I have, fender tag, radiator support bracket and rear bumper brace. I've owned this 1967 Plymouth GTX for about 7 years. When I bought it, it was in "driver" condition, but needed restoring. The interior is pretty much original (including the radio) with the exception of the headliner and carpet. This includes the seats, door panels, dash pad, radio and glass. All weather seals were replaced and the car was repainted for the first time at a cost of $12K! The old paint was completely stripped to ensure a fantastic finish. All of the sheet metal on this Hemi is original! Now for the good stuff. The "born with" Hemi engine was rebuilt, balanced, ported, intake manifold flowed and Carters tuned by one of the best engine builders in the country: Indy Heads of Indianapolis. Other upgrades include cam shaft, Mopar electronic ignition, roller rockers and hemi racing valve springs. The exhaust is a TTI system with Flow Master mufflers. For the purest who wants an original exhaust, which restricts the Hemi's breathing, I am including the original exhaust manifolds (no, I wont' sell separately, don't ask). The transmission and read end were completely rebuilt and upgraded by renowned Mopar drive train specialist, A-1 Transmission of Indy. This included new valves and HD torque converter. The red line tires are mounted on 15" painted rims. The brakes have been converted to SSBC, 4 wheel disc brake conversion. The original rear drums are included with the sale. The front suspension was rebuilt and new Monroe shocks on the front and QA1 adjustable shocks on the rear. This car is FAST and not for the faint-of-heart! If you are a muscle car enthusiast, give yourself a very special gift. Merry Christmas!
