1969 Plymouth Road Runner Description

This is a recent restoration that drives as good as it looks!

It has period correct: 383, Carter AVS 4BBL, points-type distributor and Hurst-shifted 4 speed transmission. Engine was rebuild less than 500 miles ago to stock Hi-Po Road Runner specs.

All new suspension: Leaf springs, all new bushings, tie-rod ends, idler arm, ball joints and shocks.

Tons of new AMD sheetmetal: Floorpans, trunk, trunk floor extensions, rear valance, wheelhousings, full quarters, front fenders, hood and bumpers. New gas tank, fuel lines, brake lines and e-brake lines.

There isn’t a speck of rust on this car – it hasn’t seen a drop of rain since it was restored. As a matter of fact, it is so babied that it only gets sponge baths with reverse osmosis filtered water and spends its days under a car cover in an enclosed garage!

Paint is very good – high end PPG Base Coat/Clear coat F5 Green exterior and F8 Green interior with correct eggshell/suede-finish dash paint and the matte-finish racing stripes.

Interior is all new: Dash and door pads, seat covers, door panels, carpets, pedal pads, headliner, package tray and sunvisors.

The car is driven at least once a month to keep everything working – but only on dry days!

In being up-front on the high quality of the car, here are the only points that could be improved: Tail-light chrome and door handles have some minor pitting, the transmission is dripping a couple of drips a day from the speedo housing, the dome light, washer pump and radio don’t work, the seatbelts are original and unrestored, there are some scratches on the glass, and it will likely need new tires soon – I never got around to putting the red-stripes on that I wanted to. I am definitely nit-picking – but I want to be perfectly honest so that you can bid with confidence.

I’m selling because I have found that I enjoy working on the old Mopars more than I enjoy sitting around at car-shows and talking about working on old Mopars. That, and the car is so nice, that it makes me nervous driving it around!

All statements I have about the car are accurate to the best of my knowledge. I may have missed something that is of concern to you, so I invite you to come see and ride in the car before you bid. All inspections and confirmation of condition are the responsibility of the buyer. Vehicle is sold “as is”. Winning bidder will send $500 non-refundable down-payment via paypal and final payment by wire, cashier’s check or cash within 10 days of auction close. Deposit of funds/check clearing must occur before the car is released for shipment. Shipping is the buyer’s responsibility.
