1963 Plymouth Other Description

This car has an interesting story, that only a car guy can relate too. Here goes.... I've always had some sort of a two door car. Usually a muscle car, currently my Savoy thats for sale and my 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T SE thats NOT for sale! I found the Savoy, which is a four door sedan on Craigslist in 2012 in Missouri. The car wasn't in the best of shape. No exhaust, no brakes and the car ran on a Prestone bottle of gas wedged between the grill and radiator, and a line directly to the fuel pump It ran well enough to get it on a trailer. Oh, and not to mention, the enterior had been a haven for mice for many years! In the seats, headliner were all ruined. So, I brought the car home and non stop laughter and criticism from my circle of "car guy" friends. "what are you doing with that thing" You're crazy if you spend ten cents on that car"....things like that!! So I took the car to a friend in Lincoln, Nebraska. A friend that is the expert in 60.s and 70.s muscle cars. I figured I could remove the front clip and sell it to someone building a Max Wedge car. So that was the plan. But he called me and said that it would be a shame to cut up such a nice rust free car...YES...a 63 Plymouth that was rust free!! Zero rust in fact. He had a donor car and in a few short months it was done. An extensive restoration. New paint, completely new front end parts on a restored K-member...new exhaust, brakes and fuel system. The donor car served for some of the interior parts and headliner, otherwise an old school upholstery shop recovered the seats with new foam and outside material. Oh...my car guy friends knew nothing about this project...until the day I asked them all together, and drove the finished Plymouth inside for them to see.....Over the past four years they've seen how popular this car is at cruise nights and car shows. Yes it's actually won a few trophys.
The car runs and drives perfect. Automatic and added on dealer installed in 1964 Airtemp Air Conditioning. And it works great converted to the 134 coolant. The car has no power steering or power brakes. It doesn't even have windshield washers!! I have the original bill of sale the car sold new for $2750. LOTS of paperwork and period correct advertising items go with the car. And, lots of pictures of the restoration showing the NO RUST condition of the car.
I hate to see it go. I really do!! But...the winning bidder is to send a $500 non-refundable deposit via Paypal 48 yours end of auction. Balance due in 7 days in the form of cash, wire to wire bank transfer or certified verifiable bank checks.
Fly in, drive it home or have it shipped. The winning bidder will experience the joy I've had with this car. Park it next to a Hemi Cuda at cruise night and see which car garners the most attention. Yep...the Savoy does.!!
