1947 Plymouth P15 Special Deluxe 4 Door Sedan
1947 Plymouth Other P15 Special Deluxe Description
You are looking at a 1947 Plymouth P15 Special Deluxe 4 Door Sedan. I believe I'm the 3rd owner. The previous owner had the car since 1976. He bought it from an elderly lady who had it in her barn since her husband passed many years earlier.
The car runs, drives and stops!! I take it for spins all around Austin and it has been a head turner!!
I had the starter rebuilt, and changed the ignition switch and she started right up and purrs like a kitten! IT IS A 6V SYSTEM STILL!!!! Other than that, I've only put in a turn signal flasher and a brake light switch!!
The previous owner kept it in a garage every night! I've had her outdoors in Austin, but the weather has been mild since I've had her.
Needs:
Parking brake lining(you can still buy online for about $80)
Windshield has a chip near the top on the right glass. (can still find them online for reasonable)
Windshield wipers to be put back on (got all the parts, the PO took 'em off to install a more efficient system, but never did)
Radio (I have the working original AM!!!! The PO's kid took it out and put in a newer radio, but took it out when they sold the car to me)
Light bulbs for the license plate light and interior dome light (I haven't tested them, so I think they're just a bulbs since)
Headliner, I've got all the bows just not a headliner.
Tires (the back ones are jeep style tires just like they used right after WWII and are ok, but the front are pretty bald and the spare has "bad rim" written on it but has a tire)
Paint (car should be black, and the paint job is a 40 yarder---good from far, far from good. Paint drip here and there)
Speedometer Cable (Pretty sure it's just a broken cable, as to be expected for this year. $19.95 new on eBay)
Doors re-keyed (Have ignition switch keys, and Trunk keys but no door Keys. Cheap to re-key if you take the lock out and bring to your local locksmith, mine wanted about $50)
Front passenger wheel (needs one of the hubcap clips replaced to hold the hubcap on)
I have a ton of extra parts so bring a vehicle that can transport those as well!!! Extra transmission, head, oil pan, radio, cam shaft, extra rim, hubcap, extra horns, the windshield wipers and wiper motor, mirrors, all the paperwork from 1976-2016, manuals, order catalogs plenty of other parts that I just can't think of off the top of my head..
I definitely suggest transporting this on a trailer unless you live here in Austin...These tires are fine for cruising around town but not for a long distance drive.
I can ASSIST with shipping, YOU MAKE THE ARRANGEMENTS and PAY FOR IT, and I will make myself available for pickup---BUT REMEMBER, HOW WILL YOU GET ALL THE EXTRA PARTS??? They are heavy, American steel and would cost a bunch to ship!
PLEASE ASK ALL QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING!!! SOLD AS-IS WHERE IS!!! $500 NON REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT DUE WITHIN 24 HRS OF AUCTION'S END FULL PAYMENT WITHIN 7 DAYS OF AUCTIONS END VIA CASHIER'S CHECK!! CAR WILL NOT LEAVE MY PROPERTY BEFORE CASHIER'S CHECK CLEARS MY BANK, SO DON'T PLAN TO HAND ME A CHECK AND ROLL!!!
