2002 Pontiac Trans Am Collector Edition Description

This is the last year of the Trans Am! This is the most collectible Trans Am of all because it is the last year (2002) they were ever produced. In fact, it was called the collector edition Trans Am by Pontiac. They were all yellow with the simulated feather graphics. They all had a black leather interior. They all had the WS-6 performance package option and every other available option on the Trans Am except for traction control. Other than traction control the only other choice you had was between the four-speed automatic with overdrive or the six speed manual with the two upper gears in overdrive. All of these "CETA's" got the top option 325 strong horsepower 5.7 liter LS-1 V-8 with functional cold "RAM AIR" induction. This 2002 collector addition Trans Am convertible has every available option except traction control. And traction control can take all the fun out of driving one of these cars anyway. In addition to being the very last in the most special Trans Am series ever built this car has the distinction of having less than 24,000 original miles. This Trans Am even has its original tires which is very surprising because the rears are also the originals. As if all of that was not enough this Trans Am started its life as a parade lap vehicle at the 2002 Daytona 500 NASCAR race. The most famous race in the world as far as most people are concerned. This car was used during the driver introductions and it was used to parade Kevin Harvick the number six qualifier around the track to introduce him to the fans during the driver introductions. This is parade lap vehicle number 38 because they introduced the drivers in reverse order from slowest to fastest so the slowest driver would've got the number one car and the number six qualifier got the number 38 car.( out of 43 cars )The 2002 Daytona 500 also has the distinction of being one of the most controversial Daytona 500's in history. The track was seeping water from days of rain previous to the race. The race was stopped several times because of water on the track. During one of the stops Sterling Marlin, one of the most popular drivers at the time exited his car and tried to make repairs on the backstretch in blatant opposition to the NASCAR rules. This was also the year that Jay Leno drove the pace car which was a T-top coupe version of the collector edition Trans Am with a six speed stick. In order to become familiar with the procedures for pace car driving Tony Stewart tutored Jay Leno on the intricacies of pace car lap driving. They made several YouTube videos that turned out to be comedic successes! This very limited, collector edition Trans Am convertible automatic with under 500 copies produced in this configuration could be yours for about the price of some boring new four-door sedan. Both the window sticker and passenger-side dashboard were autographed by Kevin Harvick at the time he rode in the vehicle and the autographs are still in pristine condition. Please call for details and to discuss Financial matters. These cars range from around $70,000 all the way down to about $28,000. We are not going to give this car away just because it is in Columbus Ohio. If this car was for sale in Hollywood the price would probably be double what we would like to get for it. Please don't be afraid to call even if you just want to talk about cars. Maybe you have a friend who would like to buy this car? Thank you so much.
PS, I've had 2 late model HEMI Challengers, one 5 speed auto. and one 6 speed stick and a late model Mustang GT 5 speed and this T/A is just a LOUD BRUTE by comparison and it is all stock! This thing sounds, acts, drives and attracts attention like a muscle car from the original muscle era and it's less $ to buy and does not need a $60k restoration! You will not be disappointed! Please bid with confidence. This is a nice car and we are honest "Car Folks". What a cool fun car this is! We are the 2nd owners. Thanks for your interest!
