You are bidding on a 1979 PONTIAC TRANS AM T TOP car now equipped with a 6.6L 4 BBL 400 cubic inch engine with an automatic transmission and a POSI traction rear end. VERY SOLID body with only minimal rust in a few small spots. This vehicle has been sitting since 1997 was was a running driving vehicle when it was parked. It was stored in a garage for many of those years and was just forced to go outside recently. Vehicle is super SOLID and a great foundation for a restoration. Please read entire description before bidding. Local CT car that has had been in the same family since new.
BODY & PAINT:Original paint (almost positive, no way to tell for sure) except for rear bumper. Equipped with all factory stripes.FLOORS-- no rust--very solidTRUNK--no rust-- very solidDOORS-- small amount of minor rust ( not rot) on drivers side lower inside door / pass door excellentREAR TAIL PAN-- RUST FREE EXCELLENT---this tells you a lot about how clean and solid this car is.QUARTERS-- drivers side SOLID / pass side small dent..see picFENDERS-- drivers side exc / pass side has rust hole on very top of fender and lower section has series of rust small holes on the bottom.HOOD--rust freeDECKLID-- has rust on top by spoiler...pittedSPOILER--on decklid center section no cracks, ends beaten up by the sunFLARES ON QUARTERS--dry and faded by the sun, a little brittleSHAKER-- never modified, never cut excellentROOF-- small dent from a tree branchPAINT--believed to be original except REAR bumper, but I can't say for sure.OVERALL VERY SOLID WITH MININAL SPOTS OF SURFACE RUST IN A FEW NORMAL TRANS AM SPOTS--- will need a decklid and a right front fender
Note no visible rust around front or rear window
VEHCILE WAS COATED WITH "ZEE GLAZE" when new..... this is a coating from zeebart protection, I believe that is why it has such a clean body.

ENGINE: 6.6L (6X HEADS) out of a 1976 TRANS AM, from what I have been told, I can see the " rebuilt" tag on the front of the block. NOTE vehicle does not start and when jump started the starter just clicks.... there is some rust inside the air cleaner and I'm afraid that the engine although rebuilt many years ago may be seized from water entering the carburetor from the shacker hood scoop drain being clogged with debris. Full headers on the engine.
WHEELS: factory Pontiac wheels with VERY good GOODYEAR 225/70/R 15 tires.
NOTES: A/C compressor and hoses have been removed, vehicle does not start, must be flat bedded, vehicle rolls, brakes, steers but has been sitting for years. Vehicle is being sold as a project NOT a running driving car. vehicle is not perfect but for a 37 year old vehicle it is very solid and has a very low reserve, for a car of this condition.
NOTE: exhaust system will be removed from the vehicle before it is shipped, and is NOT part of the auction full length headers will stay.
