2000 Pontiac Firebird WS6 Description

Hello

I bought this 2000 firebird formula WS6 vehicle back in 1999 when it was brand new and it has been my daily driver ever since. It has all the options available then, including a 10 cd changer, T-tops, traction control, etc. I had to travel hundreds of miles to the bay area and back to buy this car as only a few of the 1998-2002 FORMULA WS6 models were ever made.

the good: T-tops, 323 gears, automatic, ac of course (works good, I did have to add some Freon a few years ago, fine since then, WS6 wheels/door sticker, multi cd changer in back. This is a GM FACTORYWS6 Formula, not some fake or clone or firebird done up with WS6 parts,(has WS6 on door sticker codes), has a $1,000 customairbrushed ws6 ram airstock GM FACTORY hood (ignore stock photo), key fob, just about every kind of factory propaganda and items that come with a new vehicle is included (I never throw anything anyway), seats have been covered since day 4 of ownership (no holes or wear), has just about everything that the factory could offer for this car. Black exterior with black/grey cloth interior, always used full synthetic oil since break-in, runs great, monsoon sound system, car cover. has a hitch for hauling loads 2,000 pounds or less.clear aftermarket intake, have original, 330 hp.

the bad: approaching the 150,000 miles range... could use a new belt, coolant flush, tires, plugs. body has some scratches and fade, a small area of the driver's side door edge was damaged in a car wash, no dents, never in a wreck. It could use a paint job or justbuff out the old one. neither power windows work, only 1 headlight pops up (the windows and headlights are common issues, not hard or expensive to fix, instructions on how to do it available on a website specifically for this car),not all speakers work, I can take care of all of it but the price will be more and I would just not rather mess with any of it. smog and registration is due in a few months. rear end was replaced with a performance 323 one, it drips at the gasket a little (very minor leak), needs an ounce or twoadded every month or so, about a 10 minute job. the clear coat on the factory WS6 aluminum wheels has corroded, so the wheels need to be repolished or painted. the plastic dash has a crack, the inside plastic doors panels have one crack each, there is a crack in the windshield but it is not in front of the driver. part of antenna got broken off in a car wash, you can still hear radio, windshield sun visors have slipped out (I have them).

the reason for selling my car is that I need a diesel truck to haul a horse trailer around, so a trade for a diesel truck will be considered.

any questions just call me at five five nine, seven six zero, nine five four zero or contact me thru ebay. I can deliver this car anywhere in the USA as long as you pay for my gas, a cheap hotel room and a plane ticket back. I will have needed to be paid of course by then, however I will hold your payment until you take delivery of the car, when you see the car and feel that it has been mis-represented in any way, you can have all your money back minus my traveling expenses, no questions asked. you will love this car I promise. You may come see and/or have the vehicle inspected beforehand, at a dealer or independent mechanic, your area or mine, at your expense.

I will add more pictures of the car as soon as I figure out how to use my new camera to do so, but the body is typical of a factory WS6 formula except for the hood. The white spots you see on the custom airbrushed (factory) hoodis wax residue. The photo you see in the listing is that of a WW2 era German ME-162, which was built in limited numbers as a cheap and fast alternative to the two-engine ME-262. I have an excellent selling record on ebay, of which I have belonged to for about 15 years or so. I have the pink slip to the car in hand. If the vehicle does not sell this week, I will get the car smogged and registered myself, plus put in new spark plugs and belt.

personal rant: the factory propaganda information says that these cars "have air force-fed" thru the ram air system on the hood. this is a joke and false advertising on the part of Pontiac when these cars were sold. NONE of the WS6 cars have "ram air" unless the owner modified the system. the reason why is that air comes in thru the hood air scoops, which not only have baffles to keep the rain out (and restricts air flow very slightly), BUT THEN MUST GO THRU THE AIR FILTER! I have had supercharged vehicles before. You cannot "force" or "ram" air thru a stock/factory air cleaner with any great affect. The "ram air" systemis much more accurately described as a "fresh air" intake. There is no such thing as a WS6 "ram air" engine unless the owner put a turbo or supercharger on the motor. Now, if you were going 160 mph and had removed the air cleaner, the air would be slightly compressed (rammed), but I nor anybody I know does this, most people who want more power in the ls1 motors just install a magnacharger supercharger. This is not really not desired unless one is a super speed freak or racer, as the carin stock formwill, at the least, exceed 150 mph and run in the 1/4 mile in under 14 seconds. some claim a top speed of 165 mph and 13.5 quarter miles. JUST TO CLARIFY, I NEVER DID THIS OR RACED THE VEHICLE, I just liked having a lot of power and back in late 1999 getting a 320 hp car for under $30,000 was a good deal for a new car. I got the car one time up to 120 mph and it scared me silly, plenty of pedal left, never did it again, I drive the car very conservatively.
