1954 Chieftain Deluxe Station Wagon
1954 Pontiac Chieftain Wagon Description
Hello--I have decided to sell my 1954 Chieftain Deluxe Pontiac Station Wagon which has been in our family since 1955. It is a California car. I'm selling it due to advanced age.
This car can be driven. The engine is a straight eight and the last such engine that Pontiac made. It was overhauled fifteen years ago and is not the original engine. Since the overhaul the car has been driven no more than 100 miles if that many. The car has been driven over 200,000 miles which is an estimate as the odometer was non-functional for some time. The transmission is hydra-matic drive (automatic).
The metal that surrounds the back window has some rust, but basically the car is pretty much free from rust as it has been garaged most of its life. It was painted green many years ago, so the paint is faded. The simulated wood grain that was part of the color scheme when new was painted over. The car has a lighted hood ornament. The seats were recovered many years ago and the headliner was replaced, and both are still in excellent condition. The carpeting needs to be replaced.
The car is equipped with a heater that is underneath the front seat. The original AM radio is still in the car but the speaker needs replaced. The electrical wiring is original and is worn and needs a new wiring harness which we have and goes with the sale. There are other parts that we have for this model which also are included in the sale.
The driver's side front door was sprung on a fence post many years ago, and it was repaired to the extent that the door will close. The left front fender has been replaced as has the grill which was damaged in a fender bender many years ago. The hood is slightly humped due to this same accident.
There is a dent in the passenger side front door. The turn signal lever needs to be put back in place in the steering column. The exhaust system is all good and solid. The Texas title is clear.
This six passenger wagon is a good, solid car, and the highest bidder will get it. It has been in Abilene, Texas since 1988.
I want cash payment for it CASH due at personal pick up. No form of check, money order, or paper format will be accepted. PayPal is required for deposit ($1,000) only if you cannot pick it up and pay for it within 7 days. Bid to be the next owner of this fine car.
Please ask any questions, and they will be promptly answered.
