1980 Pontiac Firebird 1980 FIREBIRD LS SWAP MODERN DRIVETRAIN CAMARO 69 Description

1980 Firebird 5.3 4L60E swapped Engine is a 2006 Tahoe 5.3 iron block, 4L60E. Trans Adapt tail housing for vss/speedo cable. Full length headers and dual exhaust with hooker mufflers. The engine was set in with 1.5 set back mounts. LS7 lifters, LS6 lifter buckets, and fresh head gaskets (engine had lifter tick). The engine harness was a DIY job, throttle by wire which was followed by the guide on LT1swap.com The ECM was flashed for standalone and mounted on the firewall behind the driver side fender. The drive shaft was shortened by a north New Jersey Company, nothing else was done to the engine. Exterior: Stock body, car was a rental car in Florida when it was brand new. The build sheet was found on the old fuel tank which shows it was delivered to an AVIS location in Orlando, FL. The car was bought in North Carolina as a roller a few years back. The body is in great shape new paint. The rear seats areas and trunk are good, it was taken down to the metal and painted with POR15. The hood is a Glasstech 4” cowl hood with appropriate light weight springs and after market hood latches (Aerocatch). The lower front grills are brand new. Suspension control arms rebuilt with new rubber bushings and Cal-tracs on the rear suspension. All new brake lines, new booster, new master cylinder, and new Blistein shocks all around. The car has rebuilt factory brakes, WS6 sway bar from a Firebird Formula, and new shock plates. Fluid is fresh, the rear-end is a 3.42 from a 1979 Z28. Interior: Auto meter gauges in factory bezel, new front and rear seat covers, and new after market seat belts. FatMat sound deadener, and Sony head unit and speakers. New tan carpet, steering wheel was recovered with factory based leather, tan auto console, and the car has a tilt column from a Formula Firebird. clean title in my name car runs and drives great tons of power and a lot of fun
