1989 Pontiac Sunbird Description

1989 Pontiac Sunbird GT Turbo in excellent original condition. This came loaded with about every option available at the time. Paint appears to be original and car is rust free with the only exception being the inside lower seam on both doors… they have some surface rust…very common with these cars….could easily be cleaned up…see pictures…this seam surface rust is only on the inside seam so it is not visible when the doors are shut. There are a few minor dings and scratches but nothing major. Carpets and seats are very nice with no rips. Car starts, runs and drives as it should. Undercarriage is clean and not all scaly and rusty. Engine bay is very clean as you can see in pics. Convertible top is excellent with no rips or holes and the back plastic window is nice and clear. The convertible top boot and storage bag are also included. All the power windows work, power locks work, radio works, power trunk release…pretty much everything I can think of works as it should. Tires look fairly new. I rebuilt the hideaway headlight motor actuators, so they work perfectly now.

Known issues: oil pressure gauge does not work…not sure if it is the gauge itself or the sensor/switch; the cloth around the windshield header is ripped and needs to be repaired or replaced; the visors are not in the greatest shape; the power lock switch bezel on drivers side is broken…I still have it though; very slow/small oil drip from engine…not sure of source…but very slow drip…barely makes an oil spot even after sitting for months; glovebox is loose…it still closes properly but when open it seems loose; dashpad above radio has pulled up slightly…see picture. If I think of other issues, I will add to the auction.

I have hardly driven this car at all….just been sitting in my garage so I figured I would sell it and let someone enjoy it.
