1979 Pontiac Grand Am 4 door sedan
1 of 1,865 sedans made in 1979
Pontiac 301 2 barrel car with automatic transmission
I have owned this car and have had it in storage for over 10 years.
Car starts right up, runs and drives nice. Though it does need to be looked at before driving since it has been in storage.
A/C car
Cloth interior with bench seat
Rear window defrost
This car was ordered with the extra insulation in the doors and behind the rear seat. This helps with heating/cooling and sound deadening.
New headliner. Headliner was professionally installed yesterday. I am dropping off the visors to be recovered tomorrow.
Much of the interior plastic has been dyed and replaced
Like new BF Goodrich white lettered tires on body color matched Rally II wheels.
Good dash, trim, glass and lenses.
Good brakes. Transmission shifts fine.
Factory installed front and rear sway bars (yes, on a 4 door)
Factory installed quick ratio steering box (similar to the Monte SS)
New Pontiac nose crest
Needs drivers side front floor pan
Needs rear frame rails replaced
The roof needs to be painted.
Needs a patch panel on the Right rear 1/4.
Doors and door hinges are in excellent condition. Doors close very easy and are very solid.
Original hood insulation is in great shape.
The engine wires that normally get cut up have been untouched (First and only one I have ever seen)
The car has the dummy lights, but I do have a set of 79 gauges to go with the car if interested.
Very nice car overall/ Would make a nice driver and a fairly easy restoration.
All of the hard to find parts are on the car.
Thedash of the Grand Am is the same as the 1978 to 1988 Grand Prix. A lot of the Malibu shares the same parts, so they are readily available.
The Grand Am has the same body (other than the unique nose) as the Lemans and has the same body trim as the Grand Lemans
The Regal, Bonneville, Malibuand Cutlass also share the frame and suspension.
Please feel free to ask any questions. I can take additional pictures if needed.
