2006 Pontiac GTO Description

2006 Pontiac GTO

I am the 2nd owner and have owned this beautiful Spice Red GTO for 6 years. I daily drove the car for 4 years and loved every minute of it. The last two years the car has been garage kept and only taken out on weekend drives. Somehow I seem to have collected waaay too many cars/projects and this GTO gets the least amount of attention. Therefore, it is time for me to sell it to someone else who can enjoy it as much as I have. Unlike most GTOs that you will find, this one is NOT highly modified. I have only made light modifications or upgrades when needed or to make the car better all around. I will list modifications and the car's condition inside and out below. Thank you for checking out my car today!

Exterior Condition:

  • ·This is a solid 8/10 car body and paint-wise. It is an 11 year old car, so it's not perfect. There are some rock chips on the front and some touchup spots throughout, but no heavy scratches.
  • ·No door dings!
  • ·There is a very small indention in the rear bumper close to the valance where the previous owner must have backed into something, but touched up the paint. This is hardly noticeable, therefore I have never had it fixed.
  • ·Rear tires are nearly bald, but will last a little while longer.
  • ·Note: This car was broken into in 2013, the thief stole the aftermarket head unit that I had installed in the car. I replaced it with the factory head unit and all broken plastics and passenger window were replaced and there is NO evidence of theft by simply looking at the car. This will most likely show up on the car fax as this was an insurance claim.

  • ·A few of the wheels do have slight curb rash.

Interior Condition:

  • ·The leather is worn a tad on the driver seat outer bolsters. All other leather is damn near perfect. No rips or tears, not even on the back seats. The back seats have only been ridden in once since I've owned the car. NO kids have ever ridden in this car period!
  • ·20% Tint on all windows except windshield and rear windshield. Rear windshield has no tint, because this window is extremely hard to see out of already, much less with tint.
  • ·Dash and plastics are in great shape with very little wear and tear.

Modifications:

  • ·Infinity Reference Door Speakers
  • ·DEI Shock Sensor Added on to the factory alarm system.
  • ·Pedders Zero Drop rear springs, which take the slop out of the factory suspension without sacrificing ride quality and without lowering the car.
  • ·Polyurethane motor mounts, transmission mount, and rear differential insert to help stiffen the drive train. These mounts do transmit some noticeable vibration into the cabin of the car but for how much more solid it makes the car feel, it's totally worth it!
  • ·Polyurethane radius rod bushings - caster adjustable: The factory RR bushings on these cars are horrible, this is a must upgrade for any GTO. Google it.
  • ·RAM Clutch rated for stock 400hp. This clutch does engage a bit harder than stock and has a firmer pedal feel. It does chatter some as that is the nature of a harder engaging clutch. This clutch always grabs and has never slipped on me.
  • ·GMPP / Magnaflow muffers: These are only slightly louder than the stock mufflers. They basically sound the same and idle and when cruising, but when you step on the pedal they open up a bit. These were a factory option on SAP trim cars, completely bolt-on upgrade.
  • ·Front kidney grilles have been painted black.
  • ·Front lower bumper wrapped in black vinyl which is starting to show some slight wear.
  • ·Rear valence plasti-dipped black.
  • ·Rear "6.0" and "Pontiac" emblems removed for a cleaner look.
  • ·Rear Trunk insert has been repainted to match the car.

Parts Replaced or Repaired:

  • Fresh Oil & Filter Change (Mobil 1 0w-30 & Fram Extra Guard Filter)
  • ·New interior A&B Pillars.
  • ·1 year old A/C compressor and freon.
  • ·Rear valence has a fresh repaint/plasti-dip.
  • ·New front brake pads and turned rotors.
  • ·Full detail, including inner fender wells.
  • ·The car had a complete tune-up at 100k miles two years ago.
  • ·Radiator replaced around 90k miles.
  • ·Clutch replaced at 86k miles as well as new transmission input shaft, throw-out bearing, and pilot bearing.

If you have read this far through the description, you will see that I have documented everything I know about this car and have taken very good care of it. I only hope to find someone who can take care of it as well as I have. Please do not waste my time trying to buy this car if you are not serious. These cars are becoming more rare as the years go by, scoop up this fresh Spice Red six speed GTO today!
