If you would like a similar type of visual impact and performance as completely rotisserie restored car done by a professional restoration shop without the $50,000.00 dollar plus price tag then this Trans Am might be for you

The total build cost to date has been well over the sale price here not counting the original purchase price of the car

No matter what this sale is a give away - you could not build this car for what I am asking even if someone gave you a clean Trans Am to start with for free!

The car is a turn key running, driving, inspected, licensed vehicle. The interior smells like it is brand new - no dirt, aged vehicle, over rich exhaust or mildew smells at all - I really don't even drive it because I don't want the underside to get dirty

It runs excellent and you could probably even drive it home, but I sure wouldn't want to get it that dirty!

1979 Trans Am T/A 6.6 4 Speed in very respectable condition - pictures speak for themselves - the labels on the new parts and components can be seen wherever you look - over $50k spent on car and restoration parts not counting any labor - you will be paying full collector car auction prices to get a car like this anywhere else and even a few on ebay, and the database of closed results for the last 5 years verifies this

Real PWH marked numbers correct top to bottom engine for a W-72 car, with a Muncie M-22 4 speed and 3.42 posi in a damn near perfect 1979 T-Top Mayan Red exterior and Oyster with Carmine appointments interior K code Trans Am - this car was never undercoated and never rusted

There is way over twice the asking price invested in this car - one picture included shows just one weekend of UPS deliveries that covers the the entire room. That picture of just one weekend of mail order arrivals totaled $9000 bucks right there alone!

Previous owner did the restoration and got the car 80% complete and did a great job - we got it within 95% complete and you take it from here - All that remains is minor little bolt on trim details, and some new parts that have yet to be installed and the AC compressor installed and reconnected which is all included and as clean as the rest of the car - I did not get around to this in 2015 and see no time to do it in 2016 and garage space for still several other collector cars is the only reason for giving it up - so no lowball sale here

Short list of highlights from previous owner and builder - real W-72 400 that is is all original, but not to this car, with no machine work aside from 1 valve job - disassembled for inspection and found to be like new so only rings bearings and gaskets - even original cam still - hard to find these in original configuration and even harder still to find one original, never blown up and virtually unworn

Many thousands of dollars of Ames, Year One, Original Parts Group, NOS GM, Summit orders including the following and more:
Correct Pontiac Quadrajet restored and improved by Cliff, Hooker Competition headers, X-Pipe exhaust, reworked distributor, Accell Ignition,
True "Ram Air" outside air only Shaker scoop with alloy base - Also have another stock closed scoop to go with the car and tons of new parts including NOS AC Delco Delay Wiper motor and washer and more -

Muncie 4 Speed with factory appearing Hurst Competition Plus shifter - Vintage GM performance over the counter Muncie Transmission with the large input and output shaft drain plug case - previous owner fully built and treated all internals. 3.42 rear gear - this thing shifts like butter and is set up perfect - you spend about 2 seconds or less in the each of the first 3 gears once your going - Car runs unbelievably strong for a stock W-72 and I am sure the setup, gears and trans help

Car is pretty clean top and bottom as pictures indicate - clean enough to show with a little detail work

Extremely nice body - looks like all original sheet metal in the rear - previous owner put in pans under feet in front reportedly due to flex on the converter humps and I believe him - everything else including the floors, rockers looks totally solid and factory original surviving condition - inner rear quarters original and still have factory plugs - the paint is about 8 years old so time has proven it is holding up extremely well. There are minor imperfections hear and there but nothing that could not be locally repaired, blended or buffed - or left completely alone like I have. The car looks better just about every 1979 Trans Am I saw by about 1982 so that is good enough for me - be sure to satisfy yourself by getting with me on the telephone if you have any

Interior is very nice too - new Legendary seats, doors, new trim everywhere, beautiful new Carmine seat belts, we have all the little trim parts to finish - As with any interior some parts needed to be dyed to match as no Oyster colored hard parts are even available and new from the factory all white parts are deteriorated by now.

Overall this is a very nice car. A lot of time and money has already been spent one it. There is no way this car could be built for the asking price and I have owned dozens of F-Bodies so that is a statement based on experience. I have owned this car about 2 years, but have several other older muscle cars that I prefer and have not gotten to spend the time I planned on with this one.

We have the PHS on the car and I had the build sheet somewhere if I can find it - As mentioned earlier this is a K Code, originally a 403 car fully converted to T/A 6.6 stick with an excellent working Z-Bar setup that is smooth and slick. The car has been disassembled and restored not by myself, so there may be a thing here and there you would do different, but I feel most everything is pretty decent and have spent a good bit of time dialing in things myself like the beautiful clutch action while still having Headers, and the great shifter action and tune set up. Main work still will be on the AC system which will need to be completely gone through. Everything is still on the car from the condensor to the evap box and all brackets and compressor and lines are included. Blower works, head unit complete, but system will need to be gone through - previous owner was going to install vintage air. Also the T-Top weather strips are cracked, but do not leak at all, and I have all new ones to put on if time permits, or they come with the car - the car looks like it does in the pictures - the camera is not magic - no trickery or enhamcement, but in full disclosure there are minor imperfections as with all of these old cars - and the pictures are recent - many from last week and the begining of March at the oldest

Like all vintage and modified cars this car is sold as is and is a cash only sale with paypal down payment upon auction close - car will not be released on a check payment
