This is my 1970 Firebird. I am a big Pontiac fan and I especially like 2nd Gen Firebirds. As a result I've ended up collecting too many so I am going to try to sell this one. It is a remarkably complete and solid car. I purchased it with the intention of restoring it.

  • Extremely solid and complete California blue plate car
  • It was owned and driven by one lady its entire life until I purchased it (I am the second owner).
  • Mileage is believed to be 109,068 (which assumes the odometer has flipped once as it currently reads 9,068).
  • It has been repainted once in its original code 43 Keylime Green (based on a quick internet search). It was a quickie repaint so the jams, inside of trunk, etc. were not repainted (other than the typical overspray). Some areas of the repaint look pretty good, other areas are not so great. The paint on the Endura nose is badly checked. The hood is not as shiny as some of the other areas are. I suspect the hood was sunbaked and the prep before the repaint wasn't great.
  • I was told it was garage-kept all of its life in California.
  • It has been in a heated storage building since I purchased it.
  • As the lady that owned the car aged, she tended to bump into things. The car has dents, dings, scratches, and scrapes which are visible in the photos. The plastic filler panel between the tail lights has a hole from where she backed into something (replacement parts are readily available). I was told a lot of this happened pulling in and out of her relatively small California garage. It looks like the damage to the Endura bumper occurred backing out of the garage as it is pulled away from the fender somewhat. I bought the car thru family members after she could not drive any more.
  • It has a 2BBL Pontiac 350 with a 3-speed automatic transmission which I believe would be a Turbo 350.
  • The engine runs but would obviously benefit from a tune and carb rebuild.
  • The battery is weak. I currently have it charging but I'm not sure how much of a charge it will take.
  • The coolant overflow tank is not original.
  • I don't think it would take much to make this a roadworthy car.
  • It is a factory air car. All of the AC components appear to be present except for the belt.
  • The interior looks good for a car this old but has its share of flaws. The dash is cracked and there are imperfections in the seats and door panels. The headliner is separating at the seams.
  • I removed and discarded the worn-out carpet to assess the condition of the floor pans. As you can see in the photos, they are extremely nice.
  • I have the original console which is in fair condition. I don't think I kept the lid as it was in poor condition.
  • I also removed the cardboard package tray (under the rear window) which revealed a solid structure which is unmolested (so many of these cars got hacked up for aftermarket stereos).
  • Typical trouble areas like the bottoms of the doors appear extremely solid.
  • The trunk is remarkably solid and appears to be wearing its original factory spatter paint job.
  • Some of the weather stripping is dry and brittle which is pretty typical.
  • The California blue plates are included with the car. The front plate is thoroughly mangled from pulling over concrete parking blocks, curbs, etc.
  • It has the nice Pontiac Rally wheels.
  • Most of the glass looks good but the driver side door window has scuffs from putting the window up and down (I assume the felts are worn allowing the window mechanism to contact the glass).
  • The car looks very solid underneath. It's so much better to start with a solid car like this one rather than a car from a climate where all the metal would be rotted and pitted.

  • If the auction ends without any bids, the car will no longer be for sale - I will keep it and potentially relist it or sell it thru other means. I am not interested in doing any side deals.
