1967 Pontiac Firebird 400 Convertible RARE AC Car Air Conditioning
1967 Pontiac Firebird 400 Description
Up for auction is this 1967 Firebird 400 Convertible. We have all the Pontiac Historical Society documents to show it is a true 400. At about 19,000 miles according to the odometer the motor was rebuilt with a "Mag Cam" by the previous owner. We have the documents and Dyno test for the motor. The mileage now shows 40K, so there are 21,000 miles on the rebuild. The motor is correctly coded and from a 1967 Firebird 400 but not original to this car. The motor's serial number is within about 100 of the original.
We purchased the car appr 12 years ago and had the car painted about 6 years ago. Paint is excellent with a couple nics here and there. We recently spent about 11k dollars on complete suspension, including new spindles, springs, shocks, rebuilt rear end, 4 disc brakes, and we lowered the car to get to just slightly lower than stock. We also had the seat covers, door panels, and new carpet. All floor pans in great shape., so they were not replaced. A new radio and antenna were installed. The radio has all modern features including blue tooth to sync to your phone but it is styled to look original. We had the carb rebuilt today and new distributer. It has a Hurst slap shifter as shown but could be returned to original console pretty easy. We just put a new water pump and battery in within the last month.
The car runs and drives nice. It does need the power window switch on driver's door replaced or cleaned as they are intermittent. This one does have the power Convertible top which is really nice to have. All lights are working except the back up lights. The transmission is the turbo 400 and was rebuilt by a GM certified mechanic about 3 years ago. We have only driven the car in nice weather and keep it under cover in the garage in the winter. The top does not leak and is in good shape but shows some soiling but nothing major at all. The back plastic window in the top needs buffed out if possible since it is a little faded. We almost always have the top down so it was never an issue. The only other thing to disclose is the heater blower needs a fuse or replaced since it is not working. The car also has the original wheels with the PMD centers and brand new tires. Car is in Effingham IL and can be seen upon request. I have set a low starting price with a reasonable reserve. Let me know if you have a question I did not address.
