1939 Pontiac Deluxe Sedan BARN FIND
1939 Pontiac Other Description
Up for auction tonight is a great find. 1939 Pontiac Deluxe 6 Sedan. It comes with a three-on-the-tree. The car has been in storage for more than 20 years.
Approximately early 2000 the engine was rebuilt. Since rebuilding it there might be about 100 miles on it.
At the same time of the engine rebuild, tires and brakes were done. As well as some steering work.
The silicone "throw out bearing" for the clutch was replaced around then too
The cluster shows 95,829 miles on it. With the condition of the inside I think it might be original.
The previous owner was a school teacher who was using the car around town as a daily driver.
This is a four door sedan, in over all pretty good shape for being 78 years old. This is a easy and perfect project car for someone. We have not tried to start it recently. But everything in the engine compartment still looks pretty good.
The interior of the car is incredible for the age. Still has the original headliner intact! The seats are not shredded or anything. There is some minimal damage on the door panels (in the material...see pics).
The reason we have not tried to start this car is that there are a number of bare wires that are under the dash and we didn't want to take the chance of a fire or something. So I would recommend that prior to starting this car replacing the wiring harness. We have a harness that is included with the car. It is in a box that was sitting on the front seat.
I am sure that there is a number of other things that will come up when working with this gorgeous car. It is just a shame to see this car sitting and someone else could and should be enjoying it!
I am selling this for a friend. It is for sale locally as well!
This car comes with a BILL OF SALE ONLY! Buyer is responsible for all costs associated with shipping but I am willing to work with your shipping to help.
Any questions feel free to ask.
Good luck!
