1966 GTO Convertible 4 Sd PHS Documented, Numbers Matching, Super Clean & Original $57,500
This 1966 GTO convertible is truly one of a kind. All original sheet metal, numbers matching drive train, rust free frame, laser straight, straight seems and well optioned. The paint is absolutely magnificent and everything is in working order. The car spent a good part of its life in storage. It was meticulously restored using all period correct materials (clamps, hoses etc.). This GTO runs like a top, is smooth, powerful and straight as an arrow. New Bridgestone red line radials add to a tight, smooth, clean ride. This GTO was known as John Delorean's creation with that "coke bottle" style body and mean in body taillights.
This PHS (Pontiac Historical Society) Documented car is very well equipped from the factory including a numbers matching 389 engine, 4 Speed Hurst transmission, Saf-T-Track differential, special paint, Rally gauge cluster with tachometer, Rally I wheels, Custom Sport Steering Wheel, power steering, Sport Console, AM-FM radio, inside non-glare mirror, glove box lamp, ash tray lamp, underwood lamp, seat belts, soft ray glass, floor mats, door edge guards, ride & handling springs and shocks, and floor mats. PHS Build Sheet and Dealer Invoice is included.
The restorer told me "This is cleanest and best restore he has done on a GTO. Only had to fix a bunch of door dings. Nicest convertible GTO I have ever seen." All the original parts were intact. The frame is solid and rust free. The restoration included motor & transmission rebuilds, clutch, brakes and rear springs. The car has the original sheet metal floors & trunk, Rally I wheels and Rally Dashboard with sport console (both rare). The paint, interior, undercarriage, engine compartment and trunk are virtually flawless.
The car has only been maintained by professional classic car experts and has been babied during my ownership. The car has a new Edelbrock High Performance 1406 4-barrel carb. The original Carter 4 barrel carb comes with the car. Since the restoration, the car has been stored in an atmospheric moisture tight bag in the off-season.
I had two experts look at the car and both appraised it $60K to $65K range. I don't have a place to keep it, so my loss is your gain!
