1981 Firebird Trans Am Turbo with 76 Front End 400 Pontiac Motor
1981 Pontiac Firebird Description
.
*** Motor sounds like it has a rod knock ***
It will run and drive if you want to keep it running, but I won't run it for more then a couple seconds just to show you that it does run. Oil looks good.
Factory AC, PW, PL, Cruise, and Tilt. (I lost the keys - need to replace lock cylinder).
Engine is a 76 400 with #62 heads. Was supposed to be rebuilt less then 10k miles ago. Heads have roller rockers with keepers. Motor is not stock, but I have no documentation on what was done to it. It has Edelbrock intake and carb. Headers with full stainless exhaust.
Tranny was supposedly rebuilt when the motor was. Fluid is perfect. Has a Hurst dual gate shifter.
Posi rear with sway bar
Body has very little rust - definitelyno major issues. Frame rails, rockers, fenders, quarters, doors, etc are all good. Even the rear tail panel is good. All glass is good.
Car was a show car back in it's day. A 76/77 Front end was swapped on. Door handles are shaved and uses poppers to open. Trunk is also converted to a popper. I have a good set of doors with door handles.
Interior is good - no major issues other then needs a good cleaning. Radio is missing and needs a new window switch. Power windows do go up and down as they should.
