1980 Pontiac Firebird Description

This is the nicest antique car I've ever owned. It's fairly rare with only 1,245 turbo Formulas made in 1980 as compared to more than 5,000 Trans Ams.

It's almost rust free (there is no such thing as a 37 year oldall original rust free car), 57,xxx miles. Original carpet & upholstery, good dash, and even the original mufflers.

This beauty spent the first 29 years of it's life in Las Vegas, Nevada, the driest city in the country. In 2009 it was moved to Colorado (the third driest city in the country), and in 2016 I brought it on a transport truck to Portland, Oregon. All told in three years I have driven it maybe 150 miles so it's time for me to sell it and let someone else enjoy it.
eBay rules state I cannot offer to trade this vehicle for anything but after I sell this car I'm going to buy a 70-73 Firebird. I can't wait to see what other people have for sale out there.

If you still think the 301 is unworthy or weak or are whatever someone once told you in high school seek out Rick Unterseh (I think I spelled his name correctly), he's done amazing things with the turbo cars.

With a growing aftermarket parts selection the turbo 301 is nothing to sneeze at. There are downpipes and exhaust, manual boost controllers, alcohol injection kits, you can go BONKERS with turbocharger options, spark knock
controllers from J&S Electronics, headers.. The list goes on. Guys are retrofitting these cars with fuel injection and overdrive transmissions and loving the results. There are rumors of an intake manifold being manufactured for the special deck height 301 to allow use of traditional Pontiac heads (the head gaskets are already available) paving the way for serious engine builds.

The car has it's flaws.. It's got plenty of paint chips and pecks making for a driver quality paint job, a solid 5 footer for sure. The a/c is inoperative even though every single piece minus the belt is there, the transmission leaves a few drops per month when I start it and move it, it could probably use a couple u-joints, the power steering hose is seeping.. all things that are original and have never been serviced before. Imagine popping the hood on your new-to-you 37 year old car and changing ORIGINAL parts out.

And that's the beauty of this car. Nothing has been monkeyed with. Everything it left the factory with is still there (minus the radio). Lastly the hood was repaired sometime before I bought the car and the filler
used has telegraphed in two places. It's not perfect, it's a driver and overall a fine specimen at that.

If you like the idea of people wanting to talk to you about your car everywhere you go.. if you like the idea of a beautiful car that turns heads everywhere you'll drive it all without the gaudy ostentatious decals and ground effects Trans Ams have.. this is your ride all with a rare colour to boot!

I'm 15 minutes from PDX airport, 10 minutes from major interstates, 15 minutes from the rail yard, and 25 minutes from an ocean port: You can ship this car anywhere with the greatest of ease and I will work with any transport firm you choose.

Thanks for looking and reading.
