Very cool 1965 Pontiac GTO convertible. Engine and transmission rebuilt last year. New ignition system, power steering with quick ration box, new wheels/tires, a new power convertible top, a new fuel tank and more. The non-original 389 cubic inch V-8 is backed by a Muncie M-20-Speed manual transmission with Edelbrock aluminum heads, a Tri-Power triple carburetor setup and ceramic coated exhaust manifolds. Offered with a copy of its window sticker and build documentation, a complete service file, a Pontiac Historical Society (PHS) report, service records covering work in the last three years that amounts to more than $29,000.
80 percent of this GTO's special order Tigard Gold paint appears to be original, while all the factory body panels are believed to be present. Flaws include: prior paint and body work on the driver's door and rear quarter panel with sub-par color match. Also a few small dents and one larger crease at waist level in the passenger's rear quarter. Corrosion issues are minimal with some discoloration at the bottom of each door.
The interior is stock, aside from a modern Clarion stereo head unit with blue tooth hidden in the glove box, though the factory radio has been kept in the dashboard. New carpeting and a reproduction console were recently installed and the OEM console is included with the sale.
Lots of documentation to include: all receipts in the last three years and an $8,000 receipt for the engine rebuild.
