1979 Pontiac Trans Am Description
** Please message me for VIDEO LINK (walk around and driving demo)**
I purchased this vehicle in 2008 with what we believe was 155,500 miles from a small scale dealer in Michigan who specializes in restoring classic Pontiacs. I have driven it sparingly, mainly just for weekend cruising and car shows, putting only about 2,500 miles on it total. It has been garage kept the entire time. I have not made any cosmetic changes but I have a few basic repairs done for parts that had not been replaced by the dealer and were in need of replacement. These include Starter, Fly Wheel, Vacuum Lines, Alternator, Power Steering Pump, Belts and Hoses, and Radiator. You will notice each front seat has a tear in it and there are two small spots in need of touch up paint (one near front Pontiac Red Logo and one on driver's side rear bumper area).
I have complete PHS Documents.
All the Gauges work (all stock), even the Clock! (and I bought a spare one just in case that goes with the vehicle). All exterior and interior Lights work. The Cruise Control works also. The A/C didn't work when I bought the car and I have never bothered to fix it since we have only two months of really hot weather here. Heat and Defrost work fine. I never had the Radio fixed since I would never want music over the awesome sound of this car.
Some excellent Performance Mods had been done by the dealer and previous owner, making this car much more powerful and fun to drive than stock, while still keeping it mainly "stock appearing". It starts and runs like a top, super reliable, and sounds awesome with Headers and the Flowmaster system installed before I purchased it. Also added before my purchase were a performance Cam and Edelbrock Performer Intake Manifold, I added a 750CFM Holley Carb and the result is just under 300HP and 400TQ at the engine. Much better than stock. It really scoots. Power steering provides great road feel and the power brakes work perfectly (disc in front).
This is basically a beautiful "high quality driver" that a buyer can hop in immediately and enjoy. And one of very few in USA with this Color Combination. You will stand out among all the Black ones, etc. A perfectionist might do some very minor cosmetic fixes and perhaps fix the A/C but it looks and runs great as it is so that's up to you but I would recommend enjoying it the minute it arrives.
I have a very reasonable Reserve on the car. Please message me for VIDEO LINK and any questions of course. Best of luck bidding !
