1960 Pontiac Other Description

Here is a very amazing car. It has survived over 57 years and still remains in such good condition. The original Richmond Gray and Shelltone White Acrylic "Magic Mirror" paint combination still shines. The original Morrokide Tri-Tone Silver, Charcoal and White seats show virtually no wear and absolutely no dry rot. The original headliner, door panels, visors and rear shelf look almost like new. The mileage appears to be accurate, though not officially verified (Look at the brake pedal; and this car has manual brakes) . At just barely 60,000 that equates to a little more than 1K per year. There is no rust -out and the chrome shows well. The glass is near mint. The original 389 Tempest V8 is the high compression version of the two barrels with a respectable 283 HP and 413 lb ft of torque. I have never encountered a hill that caused a downshift!! The engine is smooth with no leaks. The 4 Speed Hydra-Matic was serviced and adjusted a couple of years ago. The power steering is effortless with no leaks. The car has new Coker wide whitewall tires (correct for its year), new brake wheel cylinders, lines, shoes and rear drums. It also has an NOS AC voltage regulator and new coil, as well as a rebuilt carburetor and recent fuel pump. The gas tank was cleaned out and no rust found. The paint shines, but I would never say it looks new or freshly painted. There are some scratches on the passenger side that I touched up. There is a little surface rust under the outboard edges of the roof that could probably be fixed with a can of Rust Oleum. The passenger Ventura nameplate is missing the "A." A nice replacement goes with the car, although it is missing the retaining pins and will need to be glued on. Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions prior to bidding or making offers.
