1987 Pontiac Fiero GT Description

Up for your bid is my 1987 Pontiac Fiero GT. It runs and drives good and has current registration but needs alittle work here and there and restoration. Please realize this is a 30 year old car and it is not perfect. Located in Central Texas about 30 miles in the country from Austin. Buy it Now is $3800 not very negotiable.
First of all I must say that really love this car and hate to sell it. Very hard to find a blue GT model with the V6 with the 5 speed. It has 125k miles on the 2.8 V6. I was told that the engine was rebuilt or replaced at 45k miles so the engine is only supposed to have about 80k miles. I have no documentation to prove that. Everything is stock and unmodified and the engine fires right up and runs and sounds great. It's a very revy sweet exhaust note engine you will just love.
5 speed transmission works and shifts and has a fair clutch. I recently replaced the clutch master cylinder and slave unit with new NAPA parts. Not wild about the factory cable system shifter. It takes some extra effort to get the transmission to get into 1st gear and reverse. Not too bad but maybe it needs adjusting to improve it. The car would be super sweet with that revy V6 if it just shifted a little easier.
Car has the factory GT rims 15x7. Has one new rear tire. Other 3 have good tread but old and I would recommend replacing them. People always put the wrong size tires on these GT models. Fronts are supposed to be 205s and rears 215s. Car has 215s all around. Believe me it makes a difference in the handling, balance and aerodynamics. Previous owner installed a lot of new parts on the suspension and brakes including cross drilled rotors.
Body has all panels in place. Paint fading badly on top. Car needs paint. Front fenders have some places where they are slightly cracked or damaged and have broken tabs on the mount points. Nose has some paint cracks and repaired areas. Hood was replaced and they did a horrible job prepping for paint. Hood paint is chipping badly and needs repaint. Rear sail panels both cracked. Most of the rear panels and doors fit and look good. Windshield cracked. I may have a spare one around...maybe.
Interior is pretty nice. Previous owner had seats recovered in real two tone gray leather with the little speakers in the head rests and they work good. New headliner. All gauges and power windows work. Radio is a later model CD radio from a Firebird. Rest of the interior is stock and original and not too bad. Most of these get very warped plastics from the heat but this one isn't too bad including the steering wheel. Interior needs a few things like Ash tray covers, e,-brake cover, cigarette lighter missing and a little restoration work here and there but over all it is nice.
Previous owner told me he installed a new AC compressor and flushed the system. Currently it not charged nor working yet. I do not know what it will take to get working but everything looks to be in place.
Over all this is a nice little 30 year old project car that can be driven and used right now as you fix it up. There are not very many bright blue GTs on the road with the 5 speed transmission. Price is $3800 Buy it Now. Full payment due with 10 days after end of auction. Once paid for you can have up to 30 days to pick it up. Car is legal and had current tags and passed inspection. Can drive it home or you can arrange transport.
