1951 Pontiac Chieftain Description

This 1951 Pontiac Chieftain has had tons of work completed. I bought it a year and a half ago with intent of finishing it up. Too many projects building up so I'm ready to let it go. All of the work done on this car was done by the previous owner and an engine builder that he used. Idon't know much about the work performed and I have only seen the car run once. I picked it up in Pittsburg in the middle of winter on a cold, snowy night. He had it in his garage, so I only have seen it run from there out to my trailer. It has open headers on it so its about as loud as a nascar motor. When I got home I tried starting it but after a few tries the starter got stuck in the cold and that was the last time I tried to start it.The previous owner said this is a heavily worked 406 motor with a big cam. Im not a motor guy so Idon't know theparticulars of whats in it, but its pretty bad ass. He said he has close to $10k in the motor/trans (NEW Tci with a B&M shifter). It has "Babbfab" valve covers with lexan windows, aluminumradiator with electric fan, Merch pulley system, Holly 4bbl carb, Edelbrock chrome intake manifold, MSD ignition, Hi flow fuel system.Has Camaro front clip with disc brakes and power steering. The car is on an Air bag system and can be lowered almost to the ground. It is plumbed for the air control system but needs the tank, controls and compressor.Has a Ford 9" rear and the battery and fuel cell have been located in the trunk. The top has been chopped 4" and all the doors, hood and trunk open/close. The handles have been shaved and it comes with 4 bear claw door poppers (currently uninstalled)All the fabrication stuff has been done, now it needs all the cosmetic work inside and final body/paint. I have most of everything you will need to finish the car…All the exterior trim pieces, extra front grille, both bumpers, chrome bits, the "indian head" hood ornament, handles, window trim, emblems, headliner rods, interior parts and trims. Also comes with new Ride Tech 4 link kit for the rear ($450) and 2 American Racing polished wheels for the front. Comes with original glass and paper templates for new size glass. The first picture shows the chrome trim and bumpers installed. The trim/bumpers are currently not mounted. Here is what you will need to buy/supply to finish:Air ride control system, carpet, door panels/headliner/re-upolster seats, glass, final body/paint.
Its not far from being ready. I will include every part I have for it. I have described the car to the best of my knowledge. I can't make or offer any guarantees on the engine performance ordrivability of the car as I have not driven it. Clear NJ title in my name. Feel free to ask any questions and Ill do my best to answer. Ifyou're unsure of what is being offered I encourage you to look before you buy. This is a project that will require finishing. Also, if you need any additional pics just ask. I can not ship this car and it is not drivable in its current state. I will be happy to work with you loading or a shipper/transporter of your choice at yourexpense and at my schedule. Located in Middletown (Belford) NJ, 07718If I get time before the listing ends I will try to look at the starter issue.
