1978 911 targa sc
I bought this 911 a couple years back with a blown motor and I was a bit of a basket case.
It had some ugly 80s bumpers and rocker panels I removed. The engine was pulled due to a broken ring on cylinder 3 and some spun bearings.
The body is very solid with zero rust ( no rust even in the battery tray) it looks like it's spent its entirety in Texas and Arizona
Engine
I tore down the engine myself and split the cases. The crank, and rods were sent over to ams in ft work and was ground down to work with oversized bearings.
At the same time the cylinders were sent off to be nikasil plated. The bottom end was assembled by a shop in garland. I had a lot of trouble with the shop completely the rebuild in a timely fashion so I eventually had the car transferred to Mayo Performance in euless tx. Tom at mayo look the assembly over from the other shop, completed a leak down and compression, completed the cam timing and got everything assembled and running.
The 911 runs great, handles well, and stops on a dime. Its a good driver like looks awesome form 10ft away and at 10mph.
Engine specs
Has a replacement 3.2 style case. We're guessing it was replaced at some point in the 80s. Appears to be a factory crate case from Porsche

-updated tensioners

-window motor regulators are bad and need to be replaced. I just keep the windows up and take the top off
-the drivers turn signal is finicky, spring behind housing is missing causing poor ground connection
Great car, looks awesome and gets compliments everywhere. Just selling to focus on family and some investments for the future.
International buyers welcome. I will assist with shipping and help load the car to get it on its way.
It's had less than 1000 miles since rebuild. It runs well but I don't recommend driving it across the country because it's a 38 yr old car. That's just me though.... If you insist and want to maybe have a crazy experience like the show Roadkill go for it haha
For all of you Wheelers and dealers. This auction has a reserve of 25k. I think thats fair and def less than what I have in the car. Im not in some dire situation where i need to sell the car. If reserve doesnt hit she'll stay here with me.
