2003 Porsche Boxster Convertible 2.7L 6-cylinder (not Boxter)
2003 Porsche Boxster Description
I love my fantastic little Boxster, it is the most fun car I've ever owned, but unfortunately it is only a 2-seater. Due to illness in the family, I'm often ferrying more than just one person around, and a 2-seater is no longer practical, so it is with a very heavy heart that I'm letting the yellow beast go.
With a 2.7-liter 6-cylinder naturally aspirated boxer motor positioned right behind the driving position and rear wheel drive, it is a real driver's car. It can go fast and out-accelerates most other cars on the road, but that's not the point of this car. Put the roof down and head out on Highway 1. Feel the wind in your hair, and feel alive! It really is awesome.Yes, there are cars out there that do zero to sixty faster. Yes, there are cars with more horsepower. But there are few cars that make you feel more at one with the road. If you've never driven a Porsche, it's very hard to describe... It's impossible to drive this bright yellow car without a huge grin on your face.
The car is is 13 years old and it has lived in San Francisco / Oakland its whole life, and has been enjoyed to the fullest. It has just under 125k miles on the clock (123,007 miles at the time of listing, to be precise), and between being a city car and the mileage, it looks like it has been pre-loved. The car has little scratches and dings everywhere from having been on long road trips and having been driven around the city for many years, but it is mechanically in top condition. Let's put it this way: This isn't the car for polishing and parking in your drive-way: It's a car for driving, like Ferdinand Porsche intended! The clutch was replaced around 20k miles ago, and it's been serviced regularly. It has only ever had premium fuel. You can apparently put normal fuel in it (but why would you?).
It is a manual transmission car, but compared to some of Porsche's other manuals (Yes, 911, I'm looking at you), the clutch is pretty forgiving. It probably wouldn't suit a complete beginner, but if you haven't driven a manual for a few years, you'll pick it up again in no time. Most importantly: why would you buy a Porsche in anything other than a Manual? Driving it and having full control over it is part of the fun!
The car comes fully loaded with heated seats, AC/heating, the power roof works (and the roof doesn't leak), and of course has all the safety features you'd expect of a sports car: ABS, front and side airbags, etc. It has the Bose premium audio package (12 (I think...?) speakers + subwoofer) and a 12-CD cd changer + 1x CD player in the dash. I added a Bluetooth unit to the car that takes over the car's radio and includes a microphone for hands-free telephone conversations. The kit is perfect for using Waze / Spotify / other apps on your phone for music and directions.
The car has a full, clean title and is ready to be picked up.
I'm not interested in trading my car for another as part of this exchange.
NOTE -- Serious buyers only. Local buyers only. Will need to see valid driving license for test drive. Full cleared payment needs to be confirmed before driving the car away, please. If you win the auction, I expect you to have come to inspect the car. Anything else is a waste of your time and mine: no further negotiation will happen at that time.===I have tried my best to show the condition of the car in the photos, so please look at those carefully. I recommend coming to look at and test-drive the car before the end of the auction. I work from home, so can be available most of the time; send me a message via the eBay messaging system to book an appointment. Thank you!
