OVERALL CONDITION - PORSCHE BOXSTER
We regularly receive requests for low mileage, California Boxster's with excellent maintenance history. The exterior of this striking example is not only finished classic Ebony, but it has a lovely, contrasting Graphite Grey Leather interior with power seats. The cars professional owners have taken beautiful care of this Boxster. Not only is the mileage low on the Boxster, with only 84,120, the car remains in 100% stock condition. There are no exhaust changes, "chips", suspension modifications, etc. Also, the car has been owned by careful, mature individuals and never abused, tracked or damaged.
This Boxster has been very well cared for and unlike many Porsches that we see, received authorized Porsche dealer servicing by the delivering dealer and subsequent service / maintenance by Porsche specialists. The comprehensive maintenance file documents the ongoing preventative and required repairs since the day the car was delivered new by Stevens Creek Porsche on February 28, 2000. Additionally, the car has many of the options that Boxster buyers are seeking and, best of all, the car is being offered at a fraction of its original cost. Additional details on the specific condition of the car are listed below.
BODY / INTERIOR / TRUNK
The paint on the Boxster is very good and shows no signs of re-painting or significant touch up. The body of the Boxster is also very nice with characteristic high quality German panel fit. While the Porsche has a few minor door dings, but not major damage and it presents very well and receives a number of comments that it appears much newer that it actually is. The Car Fax report is totally clean and reflects no accident damage, theft, salvage title, or other "suspicious history." It carries the Car Fax guarantee. It is important to note that this is a totally legitimate and beautiful Porsche Boxster and, unlike many of the cars that have bounced around auctions, been previously repaired or had significant "issues", this car has had one private owner and meticulously well cared for at all times.
The car is clean on both the topside, and even the underside of the car! The doors, hood and trunk, are very straight, line up well, and have no signs of damage or previous repair. The car has the factory Porsche spoiler that is activated electronically, at speed.
As expected with an automobile of this caliber that has been in California, the car is totally free from rust, pitting or major damage to the body. There are absolutely no signs of rust on the typical rust prone areas of the Porsche, as a result of its life in California. This includes ANY signs of rust in the rocker panels, rear lower fenders, under hood area, front trunk "well", and undercarriage (no exposure to the ocean!).
All of the exterior trim is in beautiful condition. The front and rear bumpers have absolutely no "bumper rash" commonly seen on ‽City cars.” Even close inspection reveals only very minor, hardly noticeable imperfections. All of the plastic trim and other exterior moldings are free from damage and in excellent condition. The side windows are free from cracks and damage, and operate perfectly. The front windshield has no cracks or significant chips. The surrounding trim is in excellent condition.
The tires and brakes have been replaced on the Boxster and the recent inspection (within 100 miles) shows the brakes with plenty of remaining pad life. Tires are excellent and are quality, BF Goodrich brand.
INTERIOR
The interior is in excellent overall condition, consistent with the other parts of the car including the exterior, interior, front trunk and rear area compartment. Of particular note is the condition of the leather interior that received a costly upgrade in 2008. The particular owner had the front seats recovered in leather, the rear convertible window replaced, the steering wheel refurbished and the entire interior thoroughly cleaned and renewed. The total investment amounted to $1,750.00. This is just one example of the previous owners interest in keeping the Porsche looking its best at all times.
The adjustable power seats reflect only minor fine leather patina but remain totally free from any damage, rips, tears, or significant bolster damage often seen on Porsche cars of this era. The interior reflects the cars careful, adult, professional ownership of a well-cared for, maintained Porsche. The photos accurately reflect the overall quality of the interior.
The dash is in virtually perfect condition, as are the door panels and center console. There are no cracks or signs of wear on the dash, center console or instruments, switches or steering wheel. The retracting seat belts are, of course, original, free of any fraying or damage, as are the receiving parts of the seat belt units. The door-sills and doorjambs are clean and free from dirt and grease.
The car has the Porsche Hi Fi sound system including factory speakers with no additional aftermarket units being added. The lights, gauges, and entire electrical system are 100% functional as you would expect from a high level Porsche.
The trunk also contains the original carpet that is in excellent condition. The trunk area is completely clean and contains the original spare, tools and jack. The trunk is totally free from any rust, signs of leakage, or damage. All of the tools, spare, etc are mounted in the front trunk and have never been removed.
ENGINE & MECHANICAL COMPONENTS
As you would expect from a late model Porsche of this caliber, the Boxster is very strong mechanically and a recent inspection (within the previous 500 miles) indicates no deficiencies.
When it comes to drivability, this particular Porsche is an absolute pleasure and it truly drives like newer car. These later model Porsche cars are very comfortable and offer an incredible blend of performance, handling and luxury. The car is great fun to drive and exhibits absolutely no problems. The Porsche passed California's new, strict smog check within the past few weeks, few hundred miles.
The engine is strong, does not smoke, leak, or exhibit any problems whatsoever. The Porsche idles smoothly at just below 1000 rpm, and does not hesitate, have any unusual noises or issues. There is no noise in the drive-line, and the clutch engages properly, and without slippage, chattering or fuss. The brakes work great and stop the car straight and sure.
Of course, the car passed the last safety inspection (less than 1 week ago), with no findings/needs and is inspected on a regular basis to ensure that there are no mechanical issues/needs. The emergency brake is functional and correctly adjusted.
The engine and engine bay are very clean, and free from excessive oil, dirt and grease. We have owned/driven a large number of Porsche cars over the years, and we can say with confidence, that this is an excellent running/driving car that will provide years of future enjoyment.
This Porsche is very different than many offerings of examples that lack ownership and maintenance history from literally the day the car was purchased. To our way of thinking, this is an essential consideration when considering a quality, pre-owned Porsche since ongoing maintenance can prevent costly future repairs and reduce the cost of future ownership.
While it is not possible to list the extensive maintenance that this car has received since it was delivered new to its Bay area owner by a local Porsche dealer, the file documents the repairs as does the CarFax report that is a permanent part of the Boxsters history. The following is a summary of repairs that were recently completed (within 15,000~ miles):

HISTORY - PORSCHE BOXSTER
The Porsche Boxster is a mid-engined roadster built by Porsche. The Boxster is Porsche's first road vehicle since the 550 Spyder that was originally designed as a roadster.
The first-generation Boxster (the 986) was introduced in late 1996 as a 1997 model; it was powered by a 2.5 liter flat six-cylinder engine. In 2000, the base model received a more powerful 2.7 liter engine. The Boxsters name is a portmanteau of the word "boxer", referring to the vehicles horizontally-opposed or "boxer" engine, and the word "roadster", referring to the vehicles two seat capacity and convertible top

Inspections of vehicles are encouraged but (by appointment only) must be completed within 24 hours of the end of the auction.
Out of state buyers are responsible for the high bid and any shipping costs. California buyers are subject to the appropriate sales tax, DMV transfer, and fees associated with the purchase of any used vehicle sale in the state of California.
To avoid shipping the title with the car to our out of state buyers, we mail the title via Priority Mail.
While shipping and transportation costs (if appropriate) are the responsibility of the winning bidder, we can assist with locating a suitable transporter. We regularly ship cars all over the USA/World, and can often times locate very competitive rates for transporting vehicles door to door, to a local terminal, enclosed, open, etc. Please call us for specific information/rates to your location.
