1982 Porsche 911 SC Description

I am selling my 1982 Porsche 911 SC Slantnose, finished in Guards Red with 53,912 original miles on it with factory air conditioning. I purchased this car with the intention of keeping it for the long run, however my dream Porsche, a Viper Green 911S has come into the picture. I found the car in Washington State, where I learned that it was a 2-owner car, and the previous owner had properly maintained and cared for it for the past 30 years. It was his weekend warrior until he had unfortunately become too ill to drive it. The car was then stored inside a heated facility under a car cover and was under the care of the owner's nephew, who kept up with general maintenance. The car has lived its entire life out west (California, Montana, and Washington State) and I had it transported from Spokane, WA to my home in New Jersey. There is no rust anywhere on the vehicle whatsoever. The underbody is clean as a whistle. The car has a clean NJ State title in my name as well as a clean Carfax report. This is a properly maintained, low mile expample that will continue to rise in value.

The car has a full steel slantnose front end. From speaking with the owner, as well as my own research, the slantnose front end was completed by a company called Golden Custom Coachworks in Illinois sometime in 1985. According to records, this one of the first narrow-body slant conversions in the U.S. A quick background on Golden Coachworks was that these steel parts were brought over from Porsche in Germany and are in fact the same parts used on the original 930 turbo “Flachbau” (“flat nose” in German). One factor that drew me to this particular car was that it was in fact a steel conversion, as opposed to the cheaper plastic/fiberglass units. Ultimately, the steel units ran out which forced the demand of the 80's and 90's to push for the fiberglass market. Aside from the slantnose front end, this is a 100% original, unmolested, numbers matching 2-owner 911 SC with 53k miles on it, and it even has the original factory Fuchs wheels mounted on brand new Michelin Pilot Sport Tires. This is one of very few narrow body slantnose 911's on the road. She's not a garage queen and has the typical 911 SC quirks, but nothing that's ever gotten in the way of the drivability and experience. The car stands out anywhere you go. The slant body and component options have direct roots in Porsche's racing pedigree. Each body mod is 100% functional. Both factory slants and conversion slants are cool. The regular one is more under the radar, where as a real slant is irreplaceable, almost not drivable.

The previous owner had fitted the oil fed timing chain tensioners as well as an air box pop-off valve, which are very popular and sought after upgrades for the 3.0 SC cars. I performed a major service as well as a few tasteful upgrades to compliment the great look of the slantnose. Here is a list of what was installed and performed on the car. All work performed has less than 100 miles on it.

- Valve adjustment with with less than 100 miles on it along with a full synthetic 20W50 oil change (an absolute must when adjusting the valves)

- Valve cover gaskets

- Full tune up including, Bosch plugs and Bosch wires, as well as ignition rotor/cap

- Fuel system flush, along with a brand new gas tank I had never used from a previous project

- Michelin Pilot Sport Tires: 205/55 16 fronts and 245/45 16 rears

- OEM air filter, fuel filter, oil filter, and new belts.

- Kendall 75-90 gearbox fluid, and freshly adjusted 915 trans

- Sanden 507 AC compressor to accommodate R134 refrigerant as a replacement for the factory compressors which used R12 refrigerant and prone to failure

- Mitch Leland steering wheel bushing upgrade

- MOMO MOD.07 Prototipo alcantara steering wheel with horn

- Left and Right Rennline stone guards

- Dansk shift knob and OEM shift boot

- Dansk stainless steel exhaust tip

- Fabspeed European pre-muffler cat-bypass pipe

- All new Sylvania OE bulbs (brake/tail bulbs, reverse, side marker/turn signals, parking bulbs, etc.)

- Brand new Lloyd Mats and carpets custom made to order

- Kenwood KDC-162U Car CD/MP3 Player with front auxiliary and USB inputs with iPhone and Android compatibility

- Yellow PIAA driving lamps

The car is mechanically bulletproof. After years of working on and being around air cooled 911's, this one sure is no exception; the 3.0 Flat 6 truly is a bulletproof engine, with linear power throughout the entire RPM range, this can make for an awesome driver's car and an equally excellent collector/weekend car. Everything is functional, there were zero corners cut getting this car out of storage. The upgrades truly made a big difference in the car from the date I received it. It speaks for itself. The car drives super tight, the brakes are very responsive, and the suspension is as good as it gets. She sounds phenomenal without being obnoxiously loud, and will provide many years of pleasure to its future owner. This is a perfect example of a low mile, and loved 911 SC. Car comes with complete set of original tools and spare tire.

I can assist with shipping depending on what the car sells for, the car has been completely detailed inside and out, engine bay included.
