2002 Porsche Boxster S Low Miles, 6 Speed Manual
2002 Porsche Boxster Boxster S 986S Description
I lowered the price a bit. I will probably lower the price a bit here and there to make it a reverse auction... Don't want to store it this year, too much going on, and it's starting to snow here. It's garage kept anyway, but I need the room.
Selling my 2002 Boxster S in excellent condition. Pretty much the way it came from the factory, sans red grills and back script logo, but has a dealer-installed Porsche short-throw shifter.
New in 2016; DM Flywheel, Clutch & Pressure Plate, Release Bearing & Fork, Battery, Tires, Rear Wheel Bearings, Serp Belt, Forensic Oil Change and Misc other stuff.
The CV axle boots were replaced at some point not too long ago, and the CV/axle bolts were replaced with new ones when the clutch was serviced.
A/C was serviced not long ago, blows nice and cold on hot days.
Has new Goodyear Eagle Sport tires on it. Brake wear is at about 50% wear, so I declined to have them refreshed as they work just fine.
Has NEW seat leathers and a new leather shift boot professionally installed.
Has had MANY services done at the dealership throughout the life of the car. I have the service history from after 40,000 miles, and I can get the service history from when it was new for you if necessary. I believe that the left fender was replaced when the car had less than 5K miles on it, and from the quality of the paint, looks like it was done at the factory.
The owners manual and tool kit are missing, or I have just not found them. The factory spare tire and jack are in the front trunk of the car.
Had the clutch done at 67,000 miles. At that time, the rear main seal was found to be in perfect condition with no leaks. At this time I also had the IMS bearing inspected, and it was in about as perfect shape as it could be. Seals were intact, supple, and it operated very smoothly with no issues. Not sure if it was replaced at some point, but there is mention of an "IMS service" in the service history from a long time ago...but when Porsche did the IMS fixes, they put the exact same model bearing back into the motor. Either way, it runs and drives great, is very fast.
I would PREFER that the buyer come take a look at the car, drive it, and verify that it is what I say it is before shipping it.
Yes, I replaced the rear lettering with what I feel is a better looking PORSCHE script logo. I have the original "Boxster S" logo if you want to put it back to stock. Also, as some have asked, the front grills are easy to remove and repaint.
