2006 Porsche Cayman S - Manual - New Clutch - New IMS Bearing
2006 Porsche Cayman S Description
2006 Porsche Cayman S 987. Basalt Black Metallic exterior and black leather Interior. 81,000 miles. Six speed manual transmission. Heated seats, Bose sound, and Porsche Stability Management. Car runs great with lots of new parts. Clean title with no major damage history. Purchased this car in the summer of 2015 from a Porsche dealer in Cleveland, Ohio. Car was running at the time, but had a scored number 6 cylinder and needed some other repairs. Pulled the engine and had the cylinders honed and nickle-silicon plated at US Chrome in Wisconsin. Replaced one of the pistons with another new stock Porsche piston and had all piston skirts recoated. Reassembled engine with the following new parts - rings, connecting rod bearings, connecting rod bolts, gaskets and seals, cylinder head bolts, LN engineering ceramic Intermediate Shaft (IMS) bearing, timing chain guides, water pump, 160 degree thermostat, air oil separator, alternator, and serpentine belt. Also replaced spark plugs, air filter, transmission shift cables, flywheel, clutch, clutch slave cylinder, drivers window switch, passenger seat lower cover, climate control module, both radiator fans, all four brake rotors and some of the underbody splash shields. Unfortunately, while being shipped back from US chrome, the timing chain housing on one of the cylinder block halves was damaged. Chose to have the block half repaired by an experienced local welder, rather than swapping to another set of cylinder block halves in order to keep the original engine that came from the factory with the car. Photos of the weld repair are included with this listing. At the time of posting it has been a year and 900 driving miles since the engine was reassembled. The engine runs smoothly with great power thanks to the piston coating and fresh cylinders. Interior is in very nice condition. Exterior of car has a few parking lot dings, scuffs on the bumpers and road rash on the front of the car. Tires and brake pads are at about 30-50% wear. Asking $24,500.
