2000 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 Description

This beautiful 2000 Porsche Carrera 4 Cabriolet is in excellent condition for a 16 year old car. I have a clean carfax available upon request. All scheduled maintenance has been done at Hennessey Porsche in Roswell Georgia including the RMS and IMS which was completed in 2012. I am a licensed Georgia Dealer and I purchased the car at a Carmax Dealer only Auction. Everything works as it should. Carmax sold it at auction because the car has over 100K miles. They wholesale all cars with over 100K miles as a standard practice and it has nothing to do with the condition of the car.
The 6 speed manual gearbox is the only way to go with this powerful opposed 6 cylinder engine pushing 300 horse power and 258 ft lbs of torque but hold everything! This one is also all wheel drive so you literally feel like you are glued to the road as you take hair pin turns with ease. The tires are nearly brand new. The car has 18 wheels and tires and the tires are unbelievably meaty and as wide as any on the market. Plenty fast to get in trouble anywhere but on a track like road atlanta! Loaded with options including navigation.

Why do you need all-wheel drive on a sports car, especially one with the heritage of the Porsche 911? Well, it's not because you'll be driving the car off-road necessarily. All-wheel drive provides even better handling and traction that the normal rear-wheel drive 911 on all road surfaces.
Let me explain. The Carrera 4 uses an all-wheel drive system based on a viscous multi-plate clutch. This system directs torque to the front wheels at a rate of 5-40 percent, depending on available traction and power applied.
Of course the Carrera 4 is still a Porsche. As such, it's one of the best sports cars in the world, and definitely worth the $71,020 price tag, assuming you're able to come up with that amount of money. If not then buy a gently pre-owned model like my car.
Front passengers sit in individual bucket seats that offer excellent side support. This support is important when you're driving a car that begs to be thrown through corners.
The 3.4-liter horizontally opposed double overhead cam engine has a new exhaust system for 2000 that increases horsepower from 296 to an even 300. Coupled to a six-speed manual transmission, you will always have enough power to do anything you will want to do. Since the engine also has a significant amount of torque, you will be amazed at the highway acceleration even in sixth gear. On an Interstate, you can drive the Carrera 4 almost as if it had an automatic gearbox. If you choose to keep it in fifth gear you're blessed with even more available torque, due to the higher engine revs. In sixth, however, you can get close to the quoted 24 mph highway figure.
This car has the water cooled engine, and has been the engine of choice for several years. We recall earlier Porsches where the din of the air-cooled engine detracted from the pleasure of driving the car. This engine is much quieter. This car is a car for those who appreciate the car for what it is. A performance automobile that handles like a dream and has plenty of power.
